Vehicle Detail

1969 Torino Cobra R Code Formal roof, 428 Cobrajet RamAir, automatic with original cobrajet C-6 (iron tailshaft housing), 3:50 open rear 9". Engine and tranny has been completely rebuilt, front end just inspected and in good shape. New firestone tires, new Holley carb and brakes. Still have the original carb and goes with the car. Bucket seats are in good shape with no tears, center console but the top needs be reinstalled, am radio, dual rear speakers, Shelby tach. Car runs well and only has 198 miles since engine and tranny rebuild. New speedo, actual mileage is over 100K and was replaced using NOS parts due to not functioning properly The car is a nice driver and not concourse restored, has the occassional parking lot dings but nothing bad. Replaced all the window gaskets and seals while other work was being done. I have a Marti report, window sticker and a partial build sheet. This car, from what I have been told but haven't been able to verify, was on the cover of the NOV.-Dec. "Fairlaner" magazine (official mag. of the Torino-Failane Club of America and included with history file). I tried contacting them to verify but no one ever got back with me. Headliner in good shape, Still has a vinyl roof in good condition, has the optional sport wheels, including spare. Have many reciepts from work done by previous owners. Will add additional pictures when available. Since the engine pictures were taken, the ram air seal has been corrected. Successful buyer is responsible for arranging shipping from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Also the car will not be released until all funds clear the bank if paid by cashier's check, personal check or money order. I can accept funds to be transfered from your bank if easier for you.On Apr-13-10 at 11:55:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The magazine issue was in 2004 Nov.-Dec sorry about, just wanted to clear this up.On Apr-16-10 at 10:34:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Added aditional pictures of the trunk, rear, floor and dash as people requested. Due to the engine being installed in the car, I can't read the partial Vin on the block. The door tag matches the dash tag and the car has the factory ram air and all match. Also, questions about the rear being a 31 spline, short of taking the rear apart, there is no way to say for sure what axles are installed. According to the vin data tag, the rear is a 3:50 to 1 open rearend. Everything apears to be stock and the car does have an open rear instead of limited slip which is obvious when a heavy left foot is applied. Since this car was built with a non-drag pak option and equiped with an automatic, the car came factory without staggered rear shocks as did most automatic cars. Staggered shocks were reserved for 4 speed cars and drag pak cars especially early in the production year. If you have any question please just ask. Since I have been asked by one bidder, it is only fair to disclose to all bidders that my reserve has been lowered to 13,500. Since there are several interested parties bidding, I am confident the car will sell at a decent price above the current level. Since I am also selling the car locally, I reserve the right to sell locally and may end the auction early if I recieve a good solid offer. However, anything I disclose to one bidder will be disclosed to all in order to keep the auction as fair as possible.
