The Ford Pickup truck has been off the road for four years.It needed mechanical work: front suspension work,water pump,brake work, and has a leaking, slipping automatic transmission. The truck has many rust areas that the Ford Trucks usually had during the 1970's.The pickup bed has dents on the top of it. As one can see in the side photos, I had filled some of the spots with body filler.I had replaced the truck transmission with a rebult car transmission about two years before I stopped using the truck. The car linkage was different than the truck's is, so this caused the selector not to line up correctly with the gear that the truck is in. I am the second owner of the truck. The truck gets about 5 miles to the gallon of gasoline due to the engine and rear combination.The rear in the truck is geared for power and not fuel ecomony.I used the truck for many years doing odd jobs to help with the family's income.I put a battery in on Sunday and got the truck running. The main bearings are noisy for a bit, until the oil pressure comes up.The truck would make a good project truck. If I were about 25 years younger, I would probably start restoring the truck.
