Vehicle Detail
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE 440 SixPack Clone You are looking at an extremely rare 1970 Dodge Challenger SE in its original color. That is correct, this is a correct Go Mango Orange SE Challenger, with a white vinyl top and white interior. It is an original 225ci 6 cylinder air car, and it still has the original engine. Dodge only built 350 6 cylinder SEs, and this one is in a very desireable color, with factory air conditioning. With the exception of the big block cars, this is the rarest combination that Dodge ever made in an E body. I originally started this car with the dream of dropping in a 440 SixPack, however, my AML Leukemia has put an end to all of my projects. Consequently, this one is being sold at NO RESERVE to pay for my continuing chemotherapy treatment. If you have been following my auctions, you will see that I have listed just about all of my cars and assets starting at $1 to let the market decide the final price. This car is no exception, and the new owner will be walking away with a very nicely restored 1970 Challenger SE. With the excepetion of the R/T striping and the 440 emblems on the hood, this car is exactly as it left the factory. It is a correct Go Mango Orange SE, with White Vinyl Top, white interior, and air conditioning. I purchased the car with the hopes of dropping my 440 in it, however, time and funds have been short for any projects since my bone marrow transplant failed. Consequently, I reinstalled the 225, which ran perfectly before I removed it for the conversion. The car was restored nicely, and sports a completely new interior, including carpet and upholstery. It also has many new and NOS parts, including bumper, valences, hood, trunk, fender, brackets, light buckets, etc. Under the hood shows extremely well, as the hood was properly removed and jammed, so the paint underneath is as good as the paint on top. Hood vents and hardware were removed and pained separately, so the nuts, bolts, and gaskets all look crisp. New door weatherstripping was installed, so the doors shut tight as new. The trunk also shows as well, with brand new weatherstripping, jacking instruction decals, trunk mat, and spare tire. Much of the original trim, lights, grill, and dash were cleaned up, due to it's exceptional condition before the car was restored. A brand new windshield also went in, as the original had began to frost in the corners. The car currently would make an excellent driver, as the 225 6 cylinder is very forgiving on fuel. The curb appeal of the Orange and White stripes is stunning. It would also make a great candidate for your 440 or 426 Hemi Swap, since all of the hard work has been done. Currently, the car runs and drives fine as it is, although, I have not charged the A/C since I reinstalled the engine. This is a great opportunity to own a classic 1970 Challenger SE R/T Clone. It makes a great driver as-is, or it will make a great home for your big block conversion. Terms: $2000 deposit due in 48 hours. Full payment in 7 days. Car is sold "as is, where is", so the buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup, or travel expenses. Please look at the pictures carefully, and ask questions if you are unsure of anything. It is my greatest regret to inform you that my father, Glen, has passed away after a brave 2 year battle with his AML Leukemia. Glen passed away peacefully on Sunday, with his entire family at his side supporting him, just as he had supported so many people. Glen was an amazing man, and always made time for anybody in need of a helping hand, or especially a concerned ear. Many of my freinds have told me that Glen is the person that they have tried to model their lives and relationships after. He was supportive to everybody, and most people that he has ever "taken in" consider him a surrogate father. Dispite his great successes in business, he was a passionate family man, and put us first every time. I can remember my earliest memmories being at his side helping with anything I could, and he would always engineer "successes" for me to learn from, and gain confidence. He was a master at making people feel important, confident, and loved. He made us feel special, and his constant support and enthusiasm for everybody will be sorely missed. Glen was one of the worlds leading experts in the fine persian rug business, and he had a stunning collection of vintage Ferraris and race cars, including Steve McQueen's NART Spyder, the prototype Tour De France SWB GT250, a genuine GT40 Mk4 (one of 7 street GT40s), as well as a list too numerous to recall. However, if you just met Glen, you might wonder if he had two nickels to rub together. He was always humble, and never boasted his success. Instead, he tried to help everyone reach their own successes. He was always approachable, and taught us to be good people to all people, regardless of priviledge or misfortune. Sadly Glen has left a huge void, since I did not only lose a father, but a best freind, my biggest supporter, a mentor, and my sounding block. However, he did leave a great roadmap for me to follow in his footsteps. He has shown us how important family and support are, and I vowed to him to continue his legacy with my children, Audrey (3 in June), and little Glen, who is named after my dad, and turns 1 on the 29th. He was proud of us, and we are all proud of his life, and his time that he spent with us. Have no worries, the Challenger title is clear in my mother's name. We only hope that this car goes to a great home. Glen was aware of the bid at $19,987 last, and he was proud that his Challenger would help take care of my mother after the family has lost so much in the past two years fighting his disease. In the end, every cent and every asset was worth sacrificing for the 2 years and 1 day that we got to spend with him. The doctors said he would not make it two years. He was always one to exceed his goals. Glen Kalil, January 3, 1946 - April 18, 2010
