A one-year wonder! The Honda MB5 was only produced in 1982.Features a refined two-stroke motor with oil injection, straight cut primary gears with a wet multiple-plate clutch, and a flexible 5-speed gearbox. The small motor produces a surprising 7hp at 6,000 rpm with a claimed top speed of 53mph.Our model runs, rides, and stops excellently. It also starts very reliably.(See running video below.)It is a low mileage bike with the odometer showing 2,806 miles. It is in good condition with some patina and wear reflecting its age. (See pictures.)Despite its humble stature, the MB5 handles more like a small motorcycle than a toy vehicle. Although the steering is quick, the balance is quite stable. This is largely due to the ingenious frame design, utilizing a tubular spine with straight tubes triangulating from the neck to the rear tubes. The engine hangs from the spine and clamps to two plates that form the swingarm pivot. Telescopic forks and dual rear shocks provide 5” and 3.5” of travel respectively. The wheels utilize Honda’s popular ComStar composite three-spoke rims. The MB5 also offers a full-sized motorcycles equipment: match speedometer and tachometer, a dashboard with warning indicators, full driving lights, and turn signals. Ultimately, this is one of the best handling 50cc motorcycles Honda has ever produced for the road.
