Cash only please, no paypal, checks, money orders, barter, sheckles, dubloons etc. Thank you for understanding**** Up for sale is a Vintage 1974 Honda CB450 K7 Candy Orange Motorcycle As-Is for Parts / Repair NJ (Scroll down for a summary) I'll give the full story for the length of time this has been in my possession. Purchased in 2013 off of this site in running condition. I was new to the world, saw it run and purchased it as my first bike. Once I started riding it I noticed a lack of power and putters/hesitation when accelerating. Because of this I was pointed to a mechanic who first suggested Mikuni VM32's (which are on now) and the possibility that the motor was shot (had a friend test compression which at this time tested low 100's and he said that it should be alright and we kept hope). After 7 months of him putting off more work, I picked it up not running and took it back as I was fed up. The next few months a knowledgeable hobbyist helped do the timing, valves and balance the carbs and the bike started running again. Though, this became hit or miss and starting it became a hassle and it sat for about 2 years as I again could not dedicate any more time to it. Fast forward again to about mid 2017. Decided to give it another shot and it would turn over though it would idle high and then start surging and need to be killed. Left off here with no direction and it sat again until early this year. Dropped it off to a mechanic in February of this year for a diagnosis and long story short it sat there until after Thanksgiving with not much more info than that that's copper shavings in the oil. A few gaskets were replaced though it's still leaking some oil out of the sides. Once again picked it up not running. At this point I have no more energy or time to dedicate towards this bike and I need to pass it on. As it sits, the bike has Mikuni VM32's and aftermarket exhaust pipes though I still have the originals which will be included (do not have the original throttle cable though). Side pieces, filters and an extra transmission (not sure if complete anymore) are also included Here is everything I can give in TLDR form. -Bike was purchased running in 2013 and I rode it a few months and dropped it at a mechanic due to lack of power-Mechanic said the motor was shot, compression to a friend said otherwise so we took it back-Got it running again though the idle was high and would surge to redline after about 5-10 seconds-Took it to another mechanic this year who is pretty sure the motor is shot/needs an overhaul as there's shavings in the oil What I noticed while riding: -Left turn signal is out-Third gear would sometimes miss and need to be shifted into a second time Cosmetic: -Wear and rust throughout though nothing crazy-Right side of gas tank is dented near the "A" in "Honda" Bike is for local pick up only in Highland Park, NJ with a clean title.
