Vehicle Detail
If you are interested in this unique Toyota, I would highly suggest (if you already haven’t) that you conduct your own research into its general history, as it is an interesting and fascinating one. In regard to the actual car itself, I can tell you that it recently got a brand new EV battery at a cost of nearly $10,000.00, and it also got a newer charging station. In regard to the E-Battery, please know that it charges well, holds a charge well and operates as it did the first day it was bought. This Toyota was previously owned by an electrical engineer in Southern CA, it is in fantastic overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is loaded with power windows, power locks, mirrors and other power options including heated seats and so much more. There are NO check engine or service engine lights on indicating any issues or problems. This Toyota appears to be in 100% original condition, the paint matches all around, there does NOT seem to be any major paint work (nor touch-up repairs), and there is No evidence of any type of rust or related damage. The interior is just as nice and clean, the cloth interior is in great overall condition, the carpets are clean and original, the headliner is original and intact, the dash board and all related trim components are in good working condition. This EV only has 108K original miles, all of the interior and exterior electrical components are in proper working condition, including the AC/Heat systems, all of the interior and exterior lighting, trim and all other parts are in good condition. The automatic transmission (with overdrive) is also in proper working condition, it shifts properly and smoothly, with no issues. One drive around the block or on the freeway will tell you all you need to know about this rare Rav4, it speaks for itself. The original Wheels are in good overall condition and the tires still have plenty of miles left on them. Cosmetically speaking, there are very few MINOR cosmetic blemishes which are standard for a car of its year, nothing major and nothing that needs any paintwork. There is one small to medium sized “ding” under the passenger side rear tail light (see pic) otherwise, the rest of the car is in great shape, with a clean CA title and current registration until December of 2018, this Toyota DOES NOT come with the custom license plates, however, I can make color copies of them for you if you would like. I also have two original keys with remotes which operate properly, including the factory alarm system, original spare tires/tools, original manual, warranty books etc. etc. The Magne Charge (J1773) is in good condition and works well, it is rain rated and may be safely used even in wet conditions, as it has been demonstrated to work properly even when completely submerged under water, very reliable and efficient system. This RAV4 has a newer 12V Duracell Battery (see picture), original floor mats, and so much more. The only non-original component of this Rav4 is the aftermarket radio which works well. I have tried to describe this special Toyota to the best of my non-professional abilities, these descriptions are NOT meant to represent any type of warranty or guarantee of any type, in regard to its current condition. These descriptions are made to represent only a brief and cursory descriptions of its current condition, as-is, where –is accordingly. You are welcome to arrange an independent inspection by a certified mechanic within a 50 mile radius to my zip code of 91401, in Sherman Oaks, CA. Forward me a request to arrange an inspection and I will coordinate it with you accordingly. Furthermore, please forward a request for any specific pictures, or specific questions which I will respond to at my earliest possible convenience. I still enjoy driving this RAV4 Daily so the miles may slightly vary by the time you see it, or have it inspected. I have also included plenty of detailed pictures for your inspection, so that there are NO surprises when you come to see it, test drive it or have it inspected. I know we are all busy individuals, so I have made every effort to advertise this Toyota to the best of my abilities, so as NOT to waste your time or mine. Thank you for your interest in this special vehicle, I look forward to working with a Serious, motivated, knowledgeable and all cash Buyer and remain committed to representing and facilitating its sale. Happy Hunting & Bidding. On Sep-30-18 at 18:09:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to all of the interested parties, watchers and questions. In regard to the new battery, I am "almost" certain that it is an original Ni-MH battery pack, since it charges perfectly with the newer (but used) original charger, at 220V it takes about 3-4 hours to completely charge. As previously mentioned, depending on driving condition, additional electronic usage (AC/Radio/lights etc.etc.) it ranges between 35-45 miles per charge, sometimes more, sometimes less, give or take 10%. The person I purchased it from was a retired electrical engineer who told me that he replaced the E-battery somewhere in the Bay Area, CA, as he is an elderly gentleman, he could not find the service documents and I was told he will attempt to look for it further when he has the energy. The windshield IS heated as indicated by the "HWS" button pictured on the center console. I have only had the pleasure of driving and charging this RAV4-EV since I bought it, and have only been able to conduct a relatively detailed research into its history, it is my third car which I use for local driving, running errands, transporting items short range and such activities, I still prefer to drive it as my primary daily driver, on the local roads, highways and freeways herein Southern CA. As unique and interesting as this RAV4 is, and as spacious as the interior is, with a 7 year old who participates in multiple sports, I am selling this one to purchase a much larger hybrid / EV SUV once I sell this one, but for now I am enjoying this one very much, but will require a much larger SUV by the time the end of the year holidays roll around. So until the previous owner advises me otherwise, and considering that it still charges perfectly with the original charger, I must assume that he has the original Ni-MH battery, since the second generation chargers will NOT work on this model year. I have seen the other one on ebay with MEGA miles and in very rough non-operating condition still asking for $10K, and I have seen comments all over the internet that mine may be worth closer to a $12-$14K range, however, I am NOT greedy and I am realistic, so please consider these factors when bidding. There is obviously NO reserve, so this RAV4, considering its nearly excellent condition should be in high demand with NO reserve. If I have missed any of the multitude of questions from interested parties, please email me again and I will attempt to respond accordingly. Thank you. On Oct-02-18 at 17:04:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for the question Mikens08, As previously mentioned, I only drive this RAV4 locally almost every day, and I work from home, so besides local errands and such short trips, I have not driven it for an extended trip beyond that. Also, this being California, the AC is constantly on which consumes a little more energy than usual, and I transport a-lot of sports equipment and "stuff" also weighs the car down which also a little consumes a little more energy. I have never used up the entire potential of the battery and usually charge it to the max when there about 50% charge left, which gets me about 40-50 miles. Therefore, I am sure if I were to drive it to a charge of +/- 10% left, I am sure I will get closer to 90 MPG accordingly. Moreover, I charge it overnight when I get home, So I really can't gauge exactly how long it takes to fully charge the 50% (or 100% -which I have never needed to) which I use daily. My guess of +/- 3-4 hours is an estimate since I charge it overnight. Perhaps I will NOT charge it tonight and allow it to get closer to 0 charge before I charge it again. I will post the results accordingly. 10/09/2018 - THE WINNING BIDDER ON THE LAST SALE DID NOT MAKE THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT AND HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MULTIPLE REQUEST FOR RESOLUTION. THEREFORE I AM RELISTING THIS ITEM.
