1985 GMC High Sierra K2500 4x4 Selling my truck. Incredible survivor! 1985 3/4 ton pickup 8 lug. No rust at all. These are getting harder and harder to find. Original California truck built at the Fremont CA plant and spent its entire life in central California valley. Drives good with no rattles or clunky suspension. Powered by a 5.7 SBC350 engine, runs really tight and smooth not a drip of oil anywhere! Actually kinds bugs me because my new truck drips oil and this one does not. No smoke or smells when your driving behind it. Burns really clean! TH400 Automatic transmission shifts tight and smooth.NP208 4x4 Transfer case and axle locking hubs work. I never had to use the 4x4, so low miles on those parts. Original paint still has its shine, no clear coat fading and no wax or polish on it. Body is straight. Does have a few dents, most noticeable dent is driver door mirror mount where the mirror was bumped and pushed in but you can only see it at certain angles. I had the undercarriage washed and cleaned with to get road grime buildup off and sprayed with chassis paint it did not need it but I had it done anyways. Interior is in nice shape also except for the seat had the stitching come apart. It is a 33 year old fabric. I had a local upholstery shop quote me $400 and they will restore it to look factory I can have it done if purchased for buy it now price. Truck has all its original AC parts, AC needs the V-belt installed and it will work never used the AC just rolled the windows down. Heater works well. Still has all the original smog emission components if your state needs smog inspection. I did remove the belt off the smog pump because its not needed. I did install a brand new Steering gear box from NAPA Auto Parts and Power steering pump. Truck has the rare option of factory front dual shocks. Installed all 6 new shock absorbers and other minor parts. Power Windows work,passenger side window motor is slower then drivers side. Power locks work. Has Cruise control but it does not work so well. It does have dual tanks but the drivers side tank was giving me issues so its only plumbed for the passenger side tank now. Fuel gauge does not work but I keep track on the odometer and fill it every 100 miles. All other gauges work. Good oil pressure, temperature never gets hot. Speedo is accurate. The comfortable highway speed for this truck is 65mph with the 4.10 gear ratio heavy duty axles it can do 75 but does not feel like a Cadillac at those speeds. Tires rotated/balanced and the wheels were painted it had rock chips. Power brakes stop the truck true and straight and the alignment is 100%. Original build sheet says it had the sliding rear window but it was replaced with the one peace window so less road noise and no water leaks and cleaner simpler appearance. Odometer shows 33,xxx miles but I believe it has been rolled over so its most likely 133,xxx miles but a very clean well taken care of 133K. The inside of the bed shows that it was not worked hard. Tailgate has most of the scratches on the top rail but its a truck and expected to have signs of wear. Windows are in great shape with no cracks or chips, the corner vent windows do whistle . Factory radio work. All of the lights and indicators work. Drivers side body mount bushing is worn out and the body is sitting about 1/4 of a inch lower then the bed,common issue due to the drivers weight making it wear out faster then passenger side. Overall I give the truck a rating of 8/10 due to the minor flaws it has. I do have a extra diamond plate Barden bumper and spare wheel that will come with it.
