Vehicle Detail
The X-75 Hurricane is a British icon made for the American motorcycle market by the notorious designer Craig Vetter. Initially titled as the BSA Rocket 3, this bike embodies the swan song of a failing BSA eager to compete with the impending Honda CB750. Instead, the motorcycle was finally released as the Triumph X-75 Hurricane. In the face of bankruptcy, only 1,183 engines were set aside for the model, and so Triumph limited production to only 1,200 units, After a single season of manufacturing (1972-73) the Hurricane was halted entirely due to the new 1973 American Motorcycle Noise Standards. The X-75 Hurricane’s legacy is in its place among the very first factory-custom motorcycles, it’s styling as Craig Vetter’s most radical design, and a rarity that has made it famous. While not as high-tech as the Japanese competitors, the Triumph’s 750cc transverse triple put out 58 bhp and was remarkably fast. Our model is an immaculate, full nut & bolt restoration with a number’s matching frame and motor. Almost every component has been replaced, every wire, nut, bolt, switch, and seal (without having to open up the engine) has been restored with high quality UK components (no cheap Taiwan stuff here.) This is a holy grail find for Triumph collectors. When started, this X-75 trip counter only read "1" mile. It functions as it should, so I'm not certain what the back story is, but I believe the bike had more than 1 mile on it when we began restoration. Since we have put about 15 miles on, thanks to a few local shakedowns and ride to bike night and back.Disclaimer: Every single bike I buy and sell, I personally go through and ride. I am the owner and operator of my small business, and I take what I do very seriously. I have been working on this lovely vintage junk for quite some time, I know the differences between the bikes, how they should work, the history, etc. If you are serious about buying a really cool collectible piece from someone who not only has a passion for these bikes, but works on them, rides them, collects them, breathes them, -- then call me. People come to my shop and say "This place is heaven" and "This must be a dream job"...well, I don't argue. I consider myself a rescuer of these machines, I think they should go to people who will love, and appreciate them too. Check us out! Burn Up Company, West Palm Beach, FLA. I tried to take as many detailed photos as I possibly could, but I’m happy to furnish more of whatever you’d wish to see! From what I can tell, this bike is quite nice, and complete, but look at the photos carefully. I am happy to provide any additional information/photos at request and I can be reached at (561) 475-1283, Thanks! -Dave Triumph X-75 Hurricane - YouTube Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App?
