If you’re looking for a RUST FREE 1997 Chevrolet Z71 extended cab pickup, then look no further! This is the one! CALIFORNIA/ARIZONA truck, has NEVER seen SALT!! Super clean interior with no rips or stains. Nice alpine aftermarket deck with Bluetooth capability and 3.5 mm, iPod, USB ports. It has a nice stealth box under the back seat with a 10” JL Audio sub. Also a TMA T360.2 360 watt amp by JL Audio mounted behind the rear seat back. The truck is powered by a 350 Vortec engine with an automatic transmission. Runs great with no lifter ticks or exhaust leaks. Front and rear main seals have been replaced, so no leaks! The automatic transmission shifts great and has zero issues. The entire truck has been meticulously maintained since new. The truck has the 3rd door option. The heat and A/C work as they should, as do all the power options. It also has a really nice Line-X spray in bed liner with a Bak Flip tonneau cover. Has the factory towing package with hitch and transmission cooler. The rims are factory 2015 OEM Chevrolet Silverado wrapped with 4 almost brand new Goodyear Wrangler tires LT285/70/R17. Here’s the story on this BEAUTIFUL truck. The first owner lived in Modesto California. Being a police officer in a not so great neighborhood he was a little paranoid, with every right to be! His intuition was right, the truck ended up getting keyed. He was a cop and the local hooligans knew this! An insurance claim was filed and the truck was fixed with a complete repaint. After this incident he had a viper alarm system installed. He also had his radio antenna stolen a few too many times! So he had an inside antenna installed. Replaced the outside fender one with just a rubber plug. I have since re-installed the correct one back on the passenger fender. He also installed wheel locks. One other theft deterrent system he had installed was a outer dash trim from a suburban. The suburban dash outer trim is identical to the pick up dash trim besides the rear wiper switch. This switch he had converted to a kill switch. So by looking at the dash, you would never know that flipping this switch kills the truck entirely! Pretty cool really! The second owner (my cousin) purchased the truck from him in late 2011. He then took the truck to Prescott Arizona. He taught at the flight instruction school of Embry Riddle. He decided to change jobs which moved him to Spokane Washington where he now flies planes fighting forest fires. The truck was in Washington state for about 2 1/2 years. When I decided to purchase the truck from him, he drove it all the way from Washington state to me here in Illinois. Even though it has some miles on it, it’s a great solid running and driving truck. I had planned on replacing my 2000 Silverado with this truck. My only issue is, it’s just too nice!! I can’t bring myself to run this truck as an every day driver and put it through an Illinois Winter. This truck is just as clean underneath as it is on top! ABSOLUTELY no rust underneath the doors, tailgate, rockers, cab corners, ect.... The truck is almost a 22 year old vehicle so it does have a few small rock chips/tiny door dings and such. Although I will say..... very few! It’s a straight truck with no accidents! Coming from great weather states and being such well cared for, it really shows!! The paint on this truck feels like glass! Been cleaned, waxed/buffed on a regular basis. It sits up just a touch taller than factory due to the tires and rims, but not too much. It’s just right, with the perfect stance I feel. It has a nice subtle low deep throaty sound due to the rear duals with Flowmaster muffler. Bottom line, whoever ends up with this truck will be proud to own it and show it off! Trucks like this, especially in this phenomenal shape are getting hard to come by. So don’t let this one slip by you!! I encourage anyone that wants to come see/drive it, please do!
