Please read the entire description/terms of the auction to be certain that you intend to follow through with the sale. Your bid is a contract to buy. I have the listing set up to accept bids only from US bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining my auction. If you are a legitimate bidder outside the US and you have a way to have the motorcycle picked up at my location without being crated, contact me and I will add you to the list that allows you to bid. This is the real deal. Numbers matching, 18711 original miles! (there is an oil change sticker under the seat from 1981...when it had 14800 miles on it. This bike has seen less than 4000 miles in 37 years!!! One of the most desirable Triumphs out there! By 1970, Triumph worked a lot of improvements into their bikes and in 1971, they changed the entire design to the dislike of many. The 650 Tigers are considered a nicer bike to live with than the 650 Bonnevilles due to them having only one Amal carburetor to keep in tune. They tend to run much smoother and have almost exactly the same power output except for at the very high end of the rev range. This one has a Boyer Brandsden electronic ignition, a solid state regulator/rectifier and a new battery. It starts easily (1-3 kicks). Carburetor has been professionally rebuilt . The rear shocks are Ceriani and give a nice ride. It handles beautifully and the brakes are fantastic. The twin leading shoe front brake on these bikes is said to be the best brake that ever came out of the old British motorcycle industry and this one certainly attests to that. There is some play between the stay tab on the brake plate and the slot on the fork that it fits into, and it rattles at idle if the brake is not engaged. It doesn't affect the braking, it's just a little annoying. The tires are Avon Super Venoms and have some wear. The chrome is generally very nice. The rear rim is a bit dull and has some pitting. The "Harvest Gold" paint is original and shows some fading and scratchers but still looks beautiful with its 48 year- old patina. The paint on the frame is original, too, and it is in very nice shape. The paint on the oil tank and side cover has been re-done. It looks very nice but there are some chips on the oil tank as can be seen in the pics. The seat is in great shape but has a small melted area on the top of the cover. Aftermarket "cocktail shaker" exhaust. Wiring inside the headlamp is not original, horn does not work. Overall, this is a very nice unrestored motorcycle that has survived its 48 years on earth without getting screwed up. I've been its owner for 6 years. Easy restoration project or just ride it! I searched high and low for this bike, and it breaks my heart but it needs a new home. It needs some love and attention from someone who has more free time than I do. There is no warranty implied, the bike is sold as is , where is. PLEASE ask questions if you have them! I'm happy to address any questions you may have or send more photos of specific things you want to see. The Arizona title is clear and in my name. Happy bidding!
