This is a 1999 M/B SLK 230 “Sport” (see the emblem on the front fenders). This car is a clean one Prior owner ( I purchased from him ), low mile example, excellent original in survivor condition. The “Sport” package was a $3990.00 option, including the AMG designed component group. Flared side skirts, and custom front bumper trim. Larger wheels/tires 17x 7.5 in Front and 17×8.5 in. rear with 225/45ZR-17 front and 245/40ZR-17 rear. In 99 the carbon fiber dash trim and door threshold plates were included on the “Sport”. The only reason it is leaving my collection so soon is I have back trouble and I’m 6’2” and feel Uncomfortable in the car. I drive all my cars and this car would just sit in my garage. This car is a rare SLK230 Sport and is a real find. Recent oil change with Mobil One, all books included as pictured.Everything works including the Vario-roof and there are no known issues with the car. No rust and clean undercarriage.The SLK’s were designed to be Compact & Lightweight. About the length of a Datsun 240Z a bit wider. At 2850 lbs about the weight of a Datsun 280Z – but with near 200 HP and Styling, the pure clean lines of these will grow on you.the There is also a fairly large SLK Enthusiast Group around the Country – so lots of fellow enthusiast to enjoy the car with.This example has most of the options available as listed on the option card including cell phone in console ( handset not included) 6 CD Player in the trunk, Tape Player/AM/FM sound 6 speaker sound system, headlight washers and projector driving lights. The transmission in the “D” position allows the 5th gear overdrive to engage – put it in “4” and it locks out the overdrive 5 gear. You can manually select the shift points if you start at “1”.Yes – lots of low mileage examples – with 25 to 50K miles.. but most of them Are not the rare Sport model and they aren’t Flawless Survivor Class and never will be. They sell for $8K to $11K usually.This is a True Survivor Class example, soon to be Classic In todays Classic/Collector/Special Interest Car Market – This super low mileage, 100% Factory original, near flawless example are the most sought after. With less than 18K original miles and absolutely factory original condition, This is the one for your collection.This Mercedes-Benz 230SLK has been with the same owner since new and has 17600 documented miles. The car has been stored indoors in climate controlled garage for the duration of its life and was driven only seasonally. The supercharged 2.3 liter DOHC inline-four is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and the car as running smoothly with fully operational accessories including the Vario-roof. The car starts right up with no smoke or issues, trans shifts perfectly, no fluid leaks, suspension is tight and the car drives like new. The tires are showing their age and should be replaced in the near future. The Brilliant Red paint presents cleanly as pictured. Few flaws can be seen apart from minor stone chipping And a few small scratches. Car has been buffed and detailed to perfection. The plastic front bumper and contoured rockers look great and the car appears very well-preserved overall for its age. The undercarriage is super clean and dry with no damage or concerns. The 17″ AMG 5-star alloys w/ Silver wheel finish shows minor signs of curb rash and no staining from brake dust. Original spare tire, and all books included and pictured. The Black interior shows clean and uncreased seating surfaces, and the white gauges and carbon fiber appliqué are factory accents. Flaking paint on the interior plastic can be seen on the center console and is a flaw common on SLKs of this vintage. The black carpets look to be unfaded and are protected by factory floor mats.Twin hoops complete the sporting look and provide rollover protection to the occupants. The upholstery and plastic surfaces on the door and upper dash look to be unblemished.
