ABSOLUTELY MINT CONDITION..... 2001 F-250 Platinum Edition Crew Cab 6 3/4’ bed. Rare truck at 2,482 of them built in 2001. Ford celebrated 1 million trucks sold since the 1999 F-250 body style change, because of that put out this special truck. These trucks were all identical with the only option being you could pick and choose a few different creature features on the inside along with the biggest option to be chosen was the engine. This truck has the 7.3 international diesel. It came with the factory option of dual alternators. With only 87,000 miles, she’s not even broke in yet. To my knowledge all of these special edition platinum pick ups were split up and sent ONLY to dealerships in Texas when sold new. This truck originated in Texas and then migrated to Florida. I purchased it in 2010 and brought it to Illinos. It has always lived a pampered life. Since I have owned it I have continued to pamper it even more! It has been treated like one of my children. It has never seen snow or even rain since I have owned it! It has never been driven in the winter and has never seen one ounce of salt. It spends its days in my climate controlled garage. There is not one speck of rust on this truck, top or bottom. It’s absolutely flawless. It still has all the factory stickers and barcodes on the undercarriage. That’s how spotless and rust free it really is!! I will now list the things I have done to it to upgrade it. All these upgrades were done in 2011. I wanted to make it look like all the brand new trucks on the road at that time. These upgrades were all done by the highest of professionals in the business. I have kept every single receipt and every original part from this truck. ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE SALE OF THE TRUCK. 2011 OEM Ford taillights. 2011 OEM Ford tailgate painted to match truck perfectly with 2001 OEM platinum edition decal and pinstripe. Just as original. 2011 OEM Ford rear bumper. 2011 OEM Ford black plastic top bedsides. 2011 OEM Ford running boards. 2005 NOS OEM Ford 3rd brake light. (Old one yellowed from Florida sun). 2011 OEM Ford six disc factory CD player/radio. 2011 OEM Ford 20 inch rims and tires. Brand new take offs in 2011. Purchased with 10 miles on them. Right now have around 2500 miles on them. Not one blemish on any of them. Perfect 2007 OEM Ford grille. Cut down so the special edition “all chrome” front bumper did not have to be changed. The cut portion on the bottom of the grille was brushed with “Herculiner” to prevent any plastic chrome “lifting” in case it ever did see rain! Haha.... 2007 OEM Ford header panel. 2007 OEM Ford headlights. 2001 NOS OEM Ford bug shield. 2001 NOS OEM Ford mudflaps front and rear. 2001 NOS OEM Ford fog lights. I also obtained the correct OEM FORD 18” spare with oversized tire to match the new rims. It’s the exact spare that would be under a 2011 with those factory rims. It has never touched pavement. The 2011 wheels were installed using the CNC milled 316 stainless wheel spacers purchased from “Fearless Fred” out of California. Set of 4 ($690). These will handle any load the truck will, guaranteed. It also has the factory plastic Ford bed liner. I paid a second-generation PDR guy to go 100% all around this truck and take out any little imperfection anywhere. THIS TRUCK IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESSLY STRAIGHT!!! It has a three pod a-pillar gauge set up on it with a SuperChips programmer. It has been left in tow/haul mode since the day I bought it. It also has a custom engraved S&B air intake installed. It’s also sporting 4 inch stainless steel exhaust system from the turbo back. The truck also has a throttle body spacer. With these upgrades I have been able to achieve 24 mpg. The fella I purchased the truck from had the transmission bulletproofed by Suncoast transmission in Tampa. It was rebuilt as a stage two transmission. That included a billet input shaft and a shift kit with a bigger valve body. The torque converter is also a triple disc billet torque converter. A 7k job even at that time... Oil has always been religiously changed with Motorcraft oil filter and Rotella T 15W40. Always changed due to time period instead of miles! The interior is all original. It is still in fantastic shape for the age! No rips or stains. Headliner is perfect. The lower left drivers seat bolster has very slight wear. Not bad enough to warrant changing it. Plus I like the interior leather being ALL ORIGINAL. If and when you see a Platinum edition for sale, it seems the leather on the seats has always been repaired or replaced. Floor mats are original and don’t appear to have ever even been stepped on! All of these trucks came with the factory installed cab visor. I had the orange light lenses removed and professionally tinted black. Auto body spray cleared with translucent black. When turned on, they still shine through orange. The windows are also tinted all around to match the rear factory tint. It also has the top 10”or the windshield tinted. A couple things I wanted to do yet, but never got to were: Install a touch screen Edge tuner with the nice dash hugging mount (to replace the old school pod gauges) and replace the mirrors with the newer OEM Ford mirrors with the side markers and blinkers, painted to match of course! That’s the way the factory ones are because of the Platinum edition. I would want the new ones to be the same!! But that will be up to the new owner now. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is the nicest Platinum left out there in the world. I have yet to see a nicer more perfect one. Especially with this low of miles. I GUARANTEE THIS TRUCK WILL EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR YOU WILL NOT BE HELD TO THE SALE!! I’m torn between keeping it and letting it go. I know I’ll never find another one of this quality....ever!! I am just not using the truck enough and it deserves to be driven and enjoyed.
