Vehicle Detail
This car is in museum worthy condition. If you have found this listing know what you looking at and how rare it is, and this may be the nicest example in the world. For those who don't know what this car is, let me explain. GM built a world class car when it introduced the second generation CTS and CTS-V. When its then chairman Bob Lutz was asked in 2009 about the possibility of producing a V version of a wagon, his response was that there were no firm plans to, “However, should sufficient demand materialize, there is no reason why we couldn’t do a v-series wagon, and I would be standing in line for one, just ahead of you.” Fast forward a year and GM announced that the V wagon was green lighted as a 2011 model. CTS-V wagons were produced between 2011 and 2014, with a grand total of just 1767 cars made during the entire production run. rare, even more unusual though, is that the car was offered with a choice of an automatic or a manual transmission. The manual transmission was put into just 514 of those 1767 cars. It's not clear whether or not in hindsight the wagon production met GM's sufficient demand criteria but the car was well received and universally praised in automotive press as the best CTS-V variant. To date, the CTS-V is the most powerful station wagon ever to be offered with a manual transmission. Given the move towards hybrids, alternative fuels, electrification, and the near disappearance of the manual transmission, it's likely that the CTS-V will retain the designation through history as the most powerful manual trans equipped wagon. In fact, it's also unlikely Cadillac will build a more powerful car with a manual transmission or another station wagon, as the current generation CTS doesn't offer either choice. Hagerty considers this one of a handful of recently built collector cars to put away. The link below speaks to this car in the context of it's mileage. https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2017/10/11/low-mileage-collector-car This CTS-V wagon is 100% stock with no modifications. It came equipped from the factory with what is essentially a ZR1 Corvette drivetrain. The car is powered by a supercharged LSA 6.2-liter V8, which allows this wagon to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around four seconds and pass through the quarter mile in under 12 seconds. This car also has magnetic suspension so it can also pull more lateral Gs than a Porsche GT3, it has stopping power to match the handling and acceleration capability via massive Brembo brakes all around. For added measure, the car also came from the factory with limited slip rear differential which on manual transmission equipped cars has a 3.73 ratio, a Tremec 6 speed manual trans, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires all around. Clearly GM put some good performance gear into this. The video below is from Top Gear, it shows a CTS-V wagon beat a Ferrari in a drag race: https://youtu.be/neQS6QXIoMg This car is 1 of 378 Cadillac CTS-V Wagons built in 2014, the final year of production for this variant. This car is also one of 134 to be built with a manual trans that year. This car is in the one year only color of Red Obsession, a color found on just 26 cars. When looking at the entire production run, it is 1 of only 514 total CTS-V wagons to come equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission, and 1 of just 10 manual transmission equipped cars in with the highly desired exterior color Red Obsession. When factoring in the full option list, the car is actually a 1 of a kind, with no other produced with the same equipment through the entire production run. The CTS-V Wagon was also built to be very comfortable, after all, it is a Cadillac. This particular car even more so than many Vagons, as it is equipped with the optional ventilated heated and cooled Recaro seats, the panorama roof, chrome wheels, suede wheel and gear shifter, roof racks, and extra cost paint. This is an accident-free car that was first registered in Georgia to a collector who kept the car in climate controlled storage. I purchased the car in 2017 and have kept it garaged. This car has no accident history, it retains all original factory paint and body panels. The undercarriage is in impeccable condition, as new, with no signs of corrosion. This is an extremely clean car inside and out that has only two very minor imperfections. A surface scratch on the rear right rim, and what may be a minor paint nick (not even sure) on the hood near the windshield. The optional Recaro seats are a combination of titanium leather and alcantara, and the car has black carpeting. The interior is as new. Factory equipment includes navigation, a backup camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, and much more. The supercharged and intercooled 6.2-liter V8 produced 556 horsepower and 551 ft lb. of torque. The engined is unmodified, and the vehicle is equipped with emissions standards suitable for California registration. A new battery was recently installed prior to this listing, the original battery was kept as well and can also accompany the car if desired.
