Vehicle Detail

For sale: 1972 DKW Motorcross 125 featuring a Low reserve. This is a well preserved original owner bike and it has basically been parked since 1974. The bike was never raced and still retains most every last original piece even the original and unusual locking bolts and hardware. This bike runs perfectly with excellent compression, tight controls and throttle action, no loose foot controls, kicker or worn splines. The bike was disassembled cleaned and freshened up so it could be stored and displayed inside the home. This was a light restoration that included some powder coating ,painting, and polishing, but the bike still retains much of its original patina. The original steel rims have been replaced with Akront aluminum rims along the way and they have brand new Barum Six Days tires installedon them. The inside of the gas tank is 100% free of rust, the carburetor is clean, and the original petcocks have been rebuilt. The frame, forks, and swingarm are straight.I have the original handle bars which are not installed but have been powdercoated. Also all the controls are Magura. This bike is powered by a Sach B Six Speed engine and the replacement parts for this motor are easily obtained and plentiful if needed in the future. One thing that was not replaced or fixed was the cylinder which has some broken fins on the lower left side. The Penton supplier in Cleveland has that replacement cylinder if someone wanted to have for later. It also can be repaired which is an option since the top end does not need rebuilt. I’m willing to help the buyer with shipping solutions of various kinds. Please contact me for these options. This bike has survived because it hadn’t seen the light of day for over 40 years, but when it finally did come out it managed to win first place in the "Competition Class" at the British and European Classic Motorcycle Days in Maryland this past May.I think the judges like seeing rare bikes they haven’t seen in a long time. I’m proud to offer this bike for sale and welcome interested parties to contact me for more information.Tw0 4o 4ol 0three 0eight. Check out the You Tube Video by searching 1972 DKW Motorcross 125 or coping and pasting below. In the video I only slightly touched on the peak powerband twice, but it really lights up if you are on the pipe. Also I forgot to shift into 6th gear when I lost my hat. There is NO TITLE ,but Ebay listing protocol would not let me complete the listing unless a title category was chosen along with a mileage amount. Thanks for looking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31YL4xFy9FU
