Vehicle Detail
2003 M5 in fantastic condition. 109530 miles. Demufflered and sounds like a Ferrari's wet dream. Extended leather, Alcantara headliner, M-audio. I am the third owner. The car was originally owned by current NASCAR driver Ryan Newman (documentation provided). I have most service records starting from the original purchase by Newman and his wife. Since I purchased the car in January 2015 @ 83k miles (from a BMW service adviser who had serviced the car for Ryan and Krissie Newman), I installed and/or serviced the following: Dinan Stage 3 SuspensionDinan Front Suspension Strut Tower BraceShark Injector ECU reprogram (Euro tune - i.e., smoother acceleration)Left front control arm and front suspension bushingsFront sway bar bracketsRear sway bar bracketsEngine thermostatNew stock air filtersNew batteryFront passenger seat cablesGenuine BMW ZHP shift knob (lights up)Dynavin E39 specific N6 radio/nav/iPod/Bluetooth system (original stereo and CD changer included with sale)Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires (@ 96k miles)Alignment and balancing Front bumper brake ductingRear bumper diffuserRebuilt rear-drive axle and CV bootBMW e39 OEM car coverOil changes approx every 5k milesNew armrest (not yet installed, but included w/ sale) Prior to my purchase, I know of the following major items being done:Wheels repaintedMufflers removedRadar detectorFront brake pads and rotors replaced (@ 79k miles)Clutch replaced (@ 68k miles)Intake cam sensor replaced (@ 68k miles) Car was in a minor accident under my ownership: left front quarter panel and driver's door were slightly dented where the panels meet. No structural damage. Left front quarter panel was replaced. Driver's door was fixed and paint was blended on driver's door. Work was done by Uptown Body & Fender of Oakland. I have full receipts for the work. When I purchased the car, my PPI found the front brake pads were at 70% and the rear brake pads were at 60%. I haven't had them checked since. My PPI also found no oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets. There is no vanos rattle. There are some minor scrapes on the front left mirror housing, front bumper and a few paint chips on the front end. All can be touched up pretty easily. The black plastic curb guards under the front bumper are craxked. While those can be repaired, you can't really see them and it costs $1k plus to fix because the bumper needs to be removed to do the work. Hence, I didn't fix them. Minor curb rash on a few of the wheels. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask - I'm happy to answer! This is a fantastic M5. It has aged beautifully. While in great condition, it's no garage queen. It's a true driver and will provide miles of smiles for the next owner. And, for the NASCAR fan, it has a unique history. I am selling because I now have three children and needed to get something bigger as my daily driver - a Toyota Land Cruiser. I still have a 20 year old 911, so no tears for me... :-) Enjoy!
