Vehicle Detail
Up for sale one 1989 Jaguar XJS convertible. I am selling this for a friend of the family who has passed away. Grampa Roy's red Jag has 53051 original miles and comes with the original 326 CI 5.3L V-12 engine, automatic transmission, cold AC, power windows, and ADT alarm system. It was manufactured in Coventry, England in August of 1988. Roy was the second owner. It was originally owned by Chabot Motors of Millbury, MA and Mrs. Chabot drove it for a year and a half before Roy bought it. Comes with original bill of sale and a giant folder of receipts. Please look closely at the pictures. It has small leaks, cracks, and dings like a 30 year old Jaguar would. Always garaged. Radiator hoses have been replaced recently. When replacing the hoses, the mechanic also pointed out the transmission mount needs to be replaced and the steering rack bushings are worn as well as the accumulator. The glove box knob falls out, but the door still opens and closes. The oil light flickers but goes away when you rev the motor to about 900 rpm, so I think the idle is just set a little too low. I will say that after driving it for around a half hour, you can hear the tranny mount make noise upon acceleration, but otherwise, the car rides really nice - starts, runs, accelerates and stops no problem. This car is a real head turner - we got a lot of looks driving it around. Vehicle has clean title. Please call, text, or email any questions you may have. I am no Jaguar expert but will do my best to honestly answer any inquiry you may have. You are more than welcome to view the car in person if you are local. Please bid with confidence as I have 100% positive feedback. This car cost over $50,000 brand new. I think this is well worth the investment as our reserve is well below $10,000. I can assist with loading, shipping, and deliver locally for a fee. Thanks and good luck bidding - Brian 617-233-9591 dunneysgarage@gmail.com. Regardless, this car cost $56,000 in 1989, which would equate to over $110,000 today, according to the CPI inflation calculator I found on-line https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=56000&year1=198901&year2=201806
