Vehicle Detail

*Please contact me prior bidding-Thank you.. This 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 was built on October 24, 1962 at the San Jose’, CA Ford plant. It was then delivered to Witherspoon Motors in Kemmerer, WY. Sold then on November 3, 1962 per details found in the original owner’s manual currently in the glovebox along with some other items owned by the original buyer. The car drives and handles fantastic, stops on a dime and does not smoke, but does leak small amounts of transmission fluid from the front seal, I have the replacement seal that goes with the car. Selling to make room for a new project. The Body: Original, color: Corinthian white with two toned amazing original metallic blue interior, all stainless shows very well, rare dual side deluxe mirrors and all original chrome shows very nice except for a small piece of chrome (dime size) is missing from rear bumper-passenger side, see third photo of car-rear angle below passenger tail light. the body has several touched up nicks and scratches some small, some large on the front hood and sides of car. (custom matching touch up paint included with car). Passenger front fender top has a slight color difference that appears as discoloration or something once spilled on it that occurred a long time ago, it is only visible if you are really looking for it at an angle. There is a small dent in the bottom drivers side rear tail light trim that is hard to see but wanted to mention it .The only surface rust is underneath and inside wheel wells, no rust holes anywhere on the car. My mechanic who did most of the work was amazed how clean and original it is underneath. No rust bucket here, nice solid honest car that has always been cared for and obviously garaged. Super straight body! Doors close solid and very tight, gaps are perfect. Windshield has many nicks and small chips but no cracks probably due to traveling on gravel roads back in the day. All rubber seals are soft and pliable not dry and cracking. The side and rear glass is near perfect, small dent in the passenger lower rear quarter panel and bumper area that is barely visible unless you look closely or underneath the car (see in photo). Car cover is 2 years old and goes with the car! The engine: Original 260 V8, runs great! Has had many new parts replaced –see list below, does not smoke, original engine and drivetrain. The brakes work fantastic, and it stops nice and straight. The Frame: Solid, no rust through only slight surface rust- this car was garaged its whole life and it shows it from top to bottom The Transmission: Original Ford-O-Matic that works great –small leak at front The interior: Amazing all original that wows people who look inside, the fabric, carpet, dash, chrome, horn ring all look fantastic! Working a/c that blow very cold and working heat but has no power steering or no power brakes. The radio does not work but lights up, the very rare option dash mounted clock works intermittently but does light up at night when the dash lights are on. The white roof liner looks great. There is a very original rare visor mirror case with paper, pencil and vintage coins. Inside the glove box is the original owners manual showing buyer information.Electrical:All lights work, turn signals, dash and interior dome light. horn works, headlights are original factory ford stamped lenses. Gas gauge not working correctly (when full reads slightly under 1/2 tank) This old Ford's steering is very tight- no play when turning. A joy to drive and will cruise at 65 with no problems all day long. I just did a 500 mile round trip last summer, and last fall and it was driven to the annual Hershey, PA Fall car show.At my local car shows this original unmolested honest example always brings smile's and comments of how nice it is, especially when they take a look inside! What is new within last 2 years: Battery Timing belt and Timing belt cover gasket Oil pressure switch Water Pump (original was not leaking but replaced since timing chain replaced)Ignition coilFuel Tank (original had small leak) Ignition points Flushed radiator with new anti-freeze Transmission oil pan gasket Distributor cap, spark plug wires and spark plugs Rebuilt original factory carburetor Fuel Filter Oil change 5 brand new radial white wall tires Shocks Struts 4 NOS stainless exterior window visors Two seatbelts for front seat Extra set of 4 original to this car factory full cover hubcaps (wire hubcaps I purchased last year for a more formal look) Touch up paint Gas cap Exhaust tip Floor mats Car cover What needs attention: Repair transmission leak unless your fine with it like I was, I use a drip pan in my garage and top off as needed, missing car jack, fuel gauge only shows half of what gas is actually in the tank ex: when the tank is full, the gauge reads at ½ tank, radio does not work but lights up.
