Vehicle Detail
I built this 1977 Triumph T140V about two years ago and have put a little under 1700 miles on it. Not only does it look great, it runs, rides, and shifts as it should. This motorcycle has been super fun, but I need the funds to finish other projects. I have done all of the work on this motorcycle, from mechanical to paint to wheel lacing. The only things I didn't perform myself were the bore job, cutting the valve seats, and reupholstering the seat. So I know this motorcycle inside & out and would be happy to answer ANY questions you might have. I am a relatively experienced Triumph enthusiast and have built everything from show-winning concourse restorations to totally custom cafe racers, so I can say with confidence that this resto-mod was done the right way. The frame and engine numbers match, as well as the ones punched into the bottom of the case halves. -Full motor rebuild, including cylinder bored .040 over, new pistons, new rings, ALL bearings and seals replaced, Spitfire exhaust cam for improved torque, 7 plate clutch conversion, three angle valve job with Kibblewhite components. -New Amal 930 carburetors. -All new electrical, including cloth wiring harness, tympanium, sealed beam headlight, new OEM-style switch clusters, mini signals, and Pazon electronic ignition. Clean, correct wiring job. Battery is brand new. -MAP oil filter on return line, Charlie's style on the feed line.-Good brakes. Amazing Lockheed AP CP2696 Racing Caliper with Venhill stainless line on front, reconditioned stock brake on back. -Cycle parts powdercoated black. -New stainless rims and spokes. Laced, trued, and balanced by me.- Avon tires.-New chain and sprockets with taller gearing for smooth highway cruising. This motorcycle was built to ride, and I have enjoyed it for two seasons, so some light marks and signs of use should be expected. I believe the photos present it accurately, so please inspect them carefully. This bike is relatively oil tight, but if you ride it hard on a hot summer day, you might see a drop or two. Who cares. It is tuned for my riding style and the gas in my region. Like any vintage British motorcycle, this one has its idiosyncrasies and will require regular maintenance. If you want a brand new motorcycle, please buy a brand new motorcycle. All things considered, I have no reservations about this motorcycle and nothing to hide. Please note: Connecticut does not issue titles for motorcycles this old, but I have a clean New York title in the previous owner's name, which will be included. I will issue a bill of sale. This is the best I can do. Shipping is at the buyer's arrangement and expense, but I am glad to make myself available for loading and happy to recommend a shipping service. Deposit of $500 required within 24 hrs of auction end, full payment within 7 days. Actual/original mileage unknown. Please do not bid if you do not have the funds. Motorcycle sold as is/where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Once I have the funds in full and the motorcycle leaves my property, it is the full responsibility of the buyer.
