Vehicle Detail

This BMW 740i is burgundy with tan interior. As stated it has 246280 miles. It has a 243 cid v8 engine. This engine produces 282 horsepower and 295 ft/lbs of torque. The compression ratio is 8 to 1' The car weights 4000 lbs ( curb weight). Performance wise, it goes from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds (when new), and covers the quarter mile in 15.5 sec. This car was purchased new by my mother and has been in the family ever since. The sticker price was $59,120.00 All the service books and records including the original window sticker are in the BMW owners leather bound book. Most all the power equipment is in good working order with the exception of the motor that moves the drivers seat back and forth, and the cruise control isn't working. I haven't driven the car since late November 2017. Just prior to that, I had the car serviced and the oil was changed. Last Fall, the BMW dealer replaced the rear suspension links. Since that time I have occasionally started it to keep the battery charged. Tires: These tires are Bridgestone 205/65/15R stud-less snow tires. They are in good condition and have lots of tread left. Now for the mechanicals: The engine uses some oil. I don't know how much since I've only driven the car from the dealer to my house.(approx. 10 miles) When I start the engine I see blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. However, this doesn't happen every time. Sometimes when its very cold the exhaust smoke is whitish. There is a small leak that shows up on the garage floor, and I'm told it a seal on the power steering unit. The power steering functions as it should with no stiffness when turning. The brakes are good. No vibrations when braking and normal brake pedal pressure. The aluminum alloy wheel are in excellent condition and show no signs of corrosion typically seen on alloys. RE the body: There is a small bit of surface rust ( refer to pics) on each front door at the bottom. I'm told that this is minor and can be repaired inexpensively. There are minimal scratches and a couple of dings ( someone opened a car door into it). Otherwise the body and paint are exceptional for a car of this age and miles, in my opinion. This particular BMW is a fun car to drive with ample power and a ride that is firm and comfortable. This BMW is being offered in AS IS CONDITION. There is no warranty either expressed or implied. The successful bidder will be asked to sign a letter to this effect. Good luck. On May-12-18 at 06:20:03 PDT, seller added the following information:
