Vehicle Detail

I have owned this bike for about 3 years. I gave it to my daughter but it was too big for her. So I am selling it. Currently titled with up to date registration in my name. As can be seen in the photos, this is a really nice original bike. The mufflers do not have any rot. There is one muffler that is bubbling on the bottom side, but it is not rusted through. Some of the mufflers have surface rust but no holes. If you are looking at this auction, you probably know how hard it is to find original exhaust on a 500. This Honda is pretty much a survivor. All the chrome is above average. There is a new battery, spark plugs and oil change. All the lights and warning lights work, It starts right up and runs good through all the gears. The front and rear tires are brand new. There is a small slit in a seam on the seat that is probably too small to see in the photos. Original paint has normal fading on the top of the tank and some small scratches. The starter button works, but the black button is partially missing. The headlight off high and low switch has the button missing too but it does work. They are held on with a screw, this one is just missing with nothing broken. Not a top notch show winner, but it will sure win your heart as you hear the awesome sound of the original exhaust. These bikes are smooth and powerful. The reserve is at what I have seen original exhausts sell for. Don't miss the chance to own a sweet CB500 with original exhaust. You will be very happy with this motorcycle. When is the last time you saw one with the original exhaust? On May-29-18 at 07:42:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Since the Honda hit the reserve, I rode it around the neighborhood one last time. The left turn signals did not flash. I replaced the front turn signal bulb and that fixed the issue. However, when doing so I noticed the headlight stays on without the handle bar headlight switch being on. It does go off when the key is turned off so I assume something is amiss with the handle bar switch. I therefore will purchase a good handle bar switch that will come with the bike.On May-29-18 at 15:02:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I have now purchased a new switch assembly. This will also take care of the starter button being half gone.On May-31-18 at 12:03:30 PDT, seller added the following information: New message from: printman* (92) I owned exactly the same bike when I was 18 years old ! ( see picture attached ) . Any way I am not disturbing you for "souvenirs" ... I am really interested by the bike but because I am just a frenchy froggy could you explain to me this sentence "The reserve is at what I have seen original exhausts sell for". Do you know also if some repairs have been done already on the engine ? carbs cleaning ? and last question : how are tyres ? chain and sprokes ? rust on spokes ? Thank you by advance for time answering me. Eric Thanks for the photos...It made me smile. What the comment meant was, the reserve was $1,000. I have seen original exhaust sell for this amount. The tires and tubes are brand new. Not even 10 miles on them. The carbs were professionally gone through, again about 10 miles ago. New spark plugs and oil change. I drove the bike about a week prior to posting it on ebay. I also drove it a couple of days ago. It starts easy and accelerates smoothly. The engine sounds nice and tight with no strange sounds or rattles. There is no smoke from the engine either. I don't remember if the chain and sprockets were replaced. I think so. If they were needed, I would have replaced them as this was for my daughter to ride. I am pretty sure they were replaced. I don't recall if the spokes are rusty. I am at work and not by the bike. You should be able to enlarge the photos to look at the spokes. Good luck. Someone is going to get a really cool bike that has not been messed with. SIDE NOTE: I think the sissy bar actually is from Honda with Honda CB500 stamped on it. On May-31-18 at 19:03:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone just asked for photos of the spokes to see if they have rust. The answer is not really. A few small areas. Sorry, they are upside down. Can't see how to correct that.
