Vehicle Detail

Super Rare 1970 OSSA Plonker 250cc Trials bike. Matching Numbers Engine/Frame/Title. This represents Ossa's first entry into the trials scene, developed by Mick Andrews. The Plonker preceeds the MAR. Acquired from the original owner (an Ossa dealer) after it languished in storage for many years. Relatively low apparent mileage (mileage is a guess), recent cosmetic restoration. Runs good, starts, shifts, stops as it should. It is more than likely that the motor has never been torn apart. New grips, levers, new front tire (Shinko) and good rear tire (Dunlop). Colors are Metallic British Racing Green and GM Competition Yellow, very close to the original color scheme including front fender number panels. All fiberglass parts have received several coats of clear coat, but have not been buffed out (there is some slight orange peel on rear fender). Tank badges are new (hard resin) that have been glued on. I have not inserted screws into the badge mounting holes. Pinstriping is painted (not tape). New (expensive) seat cover. Bike is super clean, brakes and bearings inspected and serviced. Fuel tank has been lined with Caswell tank liner (the best), and has not had fuel in it since restoration. Rear tail light is original, but is sporting a diy rear lens. I have molded copies of the original lens that I will include, they are not perfect. Front headlight is an OEM Ossa product, but is not the correct OEM unit for this bike. Chrome is nice. Tommaselli handlebars. While the ignition system is wired and working, I have not dealt with wiring the lights nor the kill button, and I have no intention of completing it. I am also including two new fuel tank petcocks in the event the existing Ossa originals need replacement. USFS-approved spark arrestor that appears original to the US version of this bike. There are probably more things that I am forgetting so please ask any questions. Clear Idaho Title in seller's name. The Title lists it as a 1971, but the frame tag shows 1970. Could be a 1971 model year. This is a rare and very nice mostly original 48-year old running motorcycle that has received a sympathetic restoration to an extent. Complete this machine to your liking. If you are looking for a concourse example, this is not it. I will not end this auction early for any reason. $500.00 deposit thru PayPal due within 24 hours of auctions end. I accept Cash and Bank Wire Transfer. I will also accept Bank (Cashiers) Check, but I will need to talk to you first to make sure you are not a phony scammer sob. I can provide safe storage for as long as you need, and can assist with uncrated delivery to any local freight center, within reason. Motorcycle will not be released until payment has cleared, however long it takes. Thanks for looking! On May-29-18 at 07:40:23 PDT, seller added the following information: The kill button has since been connected and works properly. The old fuel petcocks have been replaced with quality replacements featuring on/off/reserve (see photo). New fuel lines and filters. Starts 1st kick.
