Vehicle Detail

I bought this Valiant in 1988. The previous owner had just put a new top on it and a peevish neighbor slashed it over the driver's seat. That was the final straw for her and she let it go. I drove it for a dozen years or so, converting it to Barracuda front sheet metal along the way, to make it into the Barracuda the US factory never made (I am told that a Valiant with Barracuda front end was made in Mexico as the Acapulco edition). I started a conversion to the Barracuda's 273 after the old reliable slant six spun a bearing, but I got injured then distracted and never finished it. The slant 6 and the transmission are out and that's about as far as I got. Now I've made the decision to move on. Too many other projects in line ahead of it. It has sat virtually untouched for 15+ years now. I have the 225/904 combo still, plus the 273/904, which was a good running unit. True mileage unknown, but I can get you the reading off the odometer. I also have the K member, A arms and rear axle (wheel to wheel plus leaf springs), dash and a whole lot of other parts from the Barracuda (including the rear seat). The front sheet metal is off the car, but all there, plus the Valiant take-offs, plus the aforementioned extra Barracuda parts. I also have the Barracuda floor shifter and power steering (which I believe to be complete. I haven't put my hands on the shifter yet, but have the console). I have some new parts including front floor patches and gas tank, still in their unopened boxes. I also have an extra set of top latches (one on the car broke). Has NOS headlights rings, or at least they were NOS when I put them on 20 years ago. One has a small ding now. The car itself is a project, obviously. The quarters have been repaired with rivets and bondo, but even that wasn't finished and needs to be redone properly. The floors were rusty and cut out. Heavy sheet metal is in there now. I have the Barracuda pan that could maybe be patched and put in or more likely used as a template. It was cut out properly by cutting the spot welds and it has the attachment points for the floor shifter. The Barracuda front seats are with it. The back seat in the car is a cut down '80s Delta 88. I have boxes of trim, including the V8 and Barracuda scripts. Also have a new in box carpet set.The pic of it together is from the last time I drove it. It's been in a garage since then, so just about the same shape, just more cob webs. If you've read this far, you must have a smidgen if interest and probably have some questions, so feel free to ask. I can provide additional pictures on request.Done up, this would be a very cool car, but it's gotta go. For sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Pickup must be made before May 31. I will help load as much as I can, but you must arrange shipping. Deposit of $250 due within 48 hours of the end of auction.
