DETAILS: For sale, 1971 Mercedes Benz 250c Coupe. I have owned this car for about four years. It is reliable, runs very well and has minimal rust. Not perfect, but in better condition than most. I have enjoyed it very much, but need to make space in my garage. Overall the car is mechanically very sound and drives very well. Odometer reads 72,000 miles, I have no idea if this is correct, but the engine shows excellent oil pressure and no sign of overheating. During my tenure I have replaced all fluids: engine, gearbox and differential oil, brake fluid, engine coolant etc. Both rear brake rotors and calipers. Propshaft flexible union. Tyres. Set engine valve lifters. That said there are some issues that any prospective buyer should be aware of. There are a few moderate leaks of both oil and coolant, none are excessive but worth noting. The gearbox parking pawl occasionally does not engage, (however the parking brake works fine). The air conditioning does not work, I have not tried to have it fixed, the hoses look old, so I am assuming there will probably be multiple leaks. The interior appears to be original and in very good condition. The odometer only works intermittently, (common Mercedes issue). The interior clock does not work. The body has been repainted some time in the past, probably 10 or more years ago. Quality of the repaint is reasonable, but certainly not perfect. The only rust showing is to the rear drivers side quarter panel, (please see pictures). Body lines and door shuts are excellent. Chrome is very good.
