Vehicle Detail

This car was recently featured in Road & Track the the following link: https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/amp20103219/cadillac-cts-v-wagon-manual-for-sale/ Most of you who found this listing know what you looking at and how rare it is. For those who don't, let me explain. GM built a world class car when it introduced the second generation CTS and CTS-V. When its then chairman Bob Lutz was asked in 2009 about the possibility of producing a V version of a wagon, his response was that there were no firm plans to, “However, should sufficient demand materialize, there is no reason why we couldn’t do a v-series wagon, and I would be standing in line for one, just ahead of you.” Fast forward a year and GM announced that the V wagon was green lighted as a 2011 model. CTS-V wagons were produced between 2011 and 2014, with a grand total of just 1767 cars made during the entire production run. It's not clear whether or not in hindsight the production met GM's sufficient demand criteria but the car was well received and universally praised in automotive press as the best CTS-V variant. To date, the CTS-V is the most powerful station wagon ever to be offered with a manual transmission. Given the move towards hybrids, alternative fuels, electrification, and the near disappearance of the manual transmission, it's likely that the CTS-V will retain the designation through history as the most powerful manual trans equipped wagon. In fact, it's also unlikely Cadillac will build a more powerful car with a manual transmission or another station wagon, as the current generation CTS doesn't offer either choice. This CTS-V wagon is 100% stock with no modifications. It came equipped from the factory with what is essentially a ZR1 Corvette drivetrain. The car is powered by a supercharged LSA 6.2-liter V8, which allows this wagon to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around four seconds and pass through the quarter mile in under 12 seconds. This car also has magnetic suspension so it can also pull more lateral Gs than a Porsche GT3, it has stopping power to match the handling and acceleration capability via massive Brembo brakes all around. For added measure, the car also came from the factory with limited slip rear differential which on manual transmission equipped cars has a 3.73 ratio, a Tremec 6 speed manual trans, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires all around (which on this car still have 8MM of tread on them). Clearly GM put some good performance gear into this. This car is 1 of 416 Cadillac CTS-V Wagons built in 2013, and one of 132 to be built with a manual trans that year. When looking at the entire production run, it is 1 of only 514 total CTS-V wagons to come equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission, and 1 of just 60 manual transmission equipped cars in with the highly desired exterior color Thunder Gray Chroma-flair. When factoring in the full option list, the car is actually a 1 of a kind, with no other produced with the same equipment through the entire production run. The CTS-V Wagon was also built to be very comfortable, after all, it is a Cadillac. This particular car even more so than many Vagons, as it is equipped with the optional ventilated heated and cooled Recaro seats, the panorama roof and chrome wheels. This is an accident-free car that was first registered in California, transferred to Arizona, and brought back to California. The car is still under the factory powertrain warranty through July 6, 2018. This car has no accident history, it retains all original factory paint and body panels and it has a clear bra up front. The undercarriage is in impeccable condition with no signs of corrosion. This is an extremely clean car inside and out that has only very minor imperfections. A few scuffs on the chin spoiler, a barely visible ding on the rear tailgate that I have trouble locating, some minor chips (mostly on the rear left door) and surface scratches, a very slight taillamp tip separation on the portion where the taillamp meets the roof rails (about a 1 millimeter gap at the edge, nearly universal on these cars) and one wheel with curb rash. These are all very minor flaws, the car on the whole is in near perfect condition and has not been abused. A pair of exterior walk-around videos have been posted here: exterior 1 and here: exterior 2 The interior is also stock. A pair of videos detailing the interior is shown here: Interior 1 and here: Interior 2 The optional Recaro seats are a combination of ebony leather and alcantara, and the car has black carpeting. The interior is well-kept and has only minor surface scratches on a few center console trim pieces. Factory equipment includes navigation, a backup camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, and much more. The engine is fully stock. A video of the engine running is shown here: Engine Running The supercharged and intercooled 6.2-liter V8 produced 556 horsepower and 551 ft lb. of torque. The engined is unmodified, and the vehicle recently passed an emissions test. The car was just serviced with an oil change and detail at Michael Stead Cadillac in Walnut Creek CA. The car was found to be in need of nothing in the general inspection just prior to this auction. A new battery was recently installed prior to this service. If desired, I can arrange for serious bidders to speak with the service writer who saw this car, and they can verify with you how clean the car is. If you are a local bidder, feel free to contact me to see the car. Once I receive from the winning buyer, you will be given the opportunity to perform a pre-purchase inspection (at your cost) prior to paying the balance of funds due.
