Vehicle Detail

1957 Jaguar Mark VIII for sale. As is, where is. This is a very rare classic car. Only a handful were made for the US market and less than a handful are known to still be around. I bought it few years ago to restore, but after several setbacks this restoration run out of steam. I will be leaving country in a few months and would like to sell that car before I leave. Here is your chance to own a car nobody else has. This car was driving and registered when I bought it and before restoration was started. See pictures. Brakes were completely refurbished by a good mechanic, new fuel tank with anti-rust coat on the inside was installed, engine was tuned up. This car has a 1980's V-8 Buick motor that run excellent. Not sure about the engine model but it is typical for the 1980's GM cars and my local mechanic worked on it without any problems. Not sure of the transmission type. Seems original and works fine. Same with rear drive axle. No noise. See pictures for condition before restoration, as well as current state. Very good body, very thick steel. Everything is there: all lights, glass, chrome trim, wood trim, interior parts, except the seats. All British originals. I was going to replace the seats anyway as they were not very comfortable. Vehicle was 80% prepared for painting when restoration was halted for issues outside my control (mechanic was arrested for selling drugs). I just don't have the time to finish this project and it has been sitting in my garage for 2 years now. I invested a lot in that project and I'm now selling it for a fraction of that. My loss can be your gain. Primer needs to be sanded down and re-applied. There are still areas (like sunroof, wheel wells) that need to be prepped for priming. Interior needs complete restoration. It has very large sunroof. Glass condition is very good and complete. Dashboard is rough (peeling veneer) and will need a new board. Yes, it is a decent size project, but the car is well worth restoration and very unique.
