We are having another baby and the MINI only has seating for four. Our other vehicles can fit the whole family. I have a motorcycle for fair weather commuting. I had planned to drive this car for many more years, but it now is reserved for rain commutes to work. I've decided to maximize resale value and sell now so newborn expenses will hurt less. I can drive my wife's car when it rains. Miles will increase slightly: 100-200 miles as forecast is rainy this week. I bought used from Carmax in 2012 with just shy of 30,000 miles. All common issues have been addressed on this car. I have modified the vehicle for my enjoyment in addition to repairing it. Please know that these motors commonly consume oil by design due to the specification of the oil piston rings to maximize fuel economy. BMW states 1qt/1000 miles is within specification. This car has consistently needed 1 quart of oil every 2500-3000 miles for the 100,000+ miles I have personally driven it. NO blue smoke from tailpipe under any conditions. I have done full synthetic oil changes every 5-6K miles. No water leaks and has lived most of it's life in the garage. Takes 93 octane gas. Pros: New OEM clutch (with new dual mass flywheel), Wavetrac limited slip differential (with transferable lifetime warranty), four new BFGoodrich Sport Comp-2 tires with approximately one year and 5,000 miles, Integral Audio Soundstage speaker/amp upgrade w/Subwoofer, spare tire, heated leather seats, keyless entry/ignition, dual sunroof, fog lights, auto-leveling HID headlights, automatic wipers, built in garage door opener, auto temp A/C. No tears in leather, but as seen in photo, normal wear present. Essentially every option besides NAV, cold weather package, roof rack, and mudflaps. Cons: Cracked windshield (visible in photo - vertical near inspection sticker near driver and horizontal near wiper), non-functioning audio head unit (music is played through 3.5mm audio input near steering wheel run directly to aftermarket amplifier, normal wear & tear for a car of this mileage/age, sunroof toggle switch works, but is loose and can be pushed towards the passenger side if careless, front sunroof sunscreen adhesive has detached on driver's side - works fine, but is visibly loose, some tabs on chrome hood trim have loosened - this is visible in the photo. I've placed two zip-ties to prevent loss as sometimes you see these cars without one. A new OEM trim piece with tabs is $68. Modifications: Wavetrac Limited Slip Differential, JCW intake box and cone filter, Hella brand two tone horn, fiberglass hood scoop, oil pan petcock valve (original plug bolt can be included if requested), legal (Louisiana) tint side and rear, slotted front Brembo brake rotors, EBC red brake pads, GFB DV+, catless downpipe, large front mount intercooler, OBDII boost/vacuum gage (Cravenspeed brand), cravenspeed dipstick, Evolve tune 199whp confirmed on dynoject dyno at Northshore Speed, Slidell, LA in 2014. Rev limiter and 22PSI boost cut-off remain in place. Major Repairs and approximate mileage: oil leaks 50K & 80K (turbo oil feed line, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover), OEM drive axle due to torn CV joint boot 50K, complete timing chain assembly 60K (car had rattle, did NOT jump timing, and was repaired under 'campaign' from BMW at Brian Harris MINI/BMW by master tech, rubber intake boot 80K, new OEM coolant expansion tank 90K, vanos solenoid 95K, turbo rebuild 100K, water pump/thermostat housing/water pipe 130K, walnut blasted intake cleaning every 20-30K and was last completed less than 2K ago. The beer tap shift knob can be removed prior to sale and OEM knob put back on if desired. Original catalytic converter downpipe and FMIC can be included, but must be retrieved from storage and I am not willing to install prior to sale. Pocket DAC/Amp in photo will NOT be included. Magnet for phone mount can be included if requested. Title will be signed/notarized and can provide a bill of sale if desired. Plate will be removed and I require your full name/address to meet requirement to turn in my plate to the DMV.
