I fitted a slip joint for the silencer and modified the rear fender to fit the "Up Pipe." I also rubber mounted the pipe to reduce the chance of it developing cracks. The pipe looks like a Wheelsmith Pipe, but it has been through repairs and modifications. I will just say It sounds right. The Following is a list of new parts in the Engine:All gaskets and sealsNew output bearingCrank rebuilt (New connecting rod and bearing)Crank bearingsCrank sealsCylinder Bored 67.5mm SoCal MaicoPiston, ring, and wrist pin bearing.Kicker and shifter rubbersPointsCondensorExhaust SpringThe sale includes a new in the box spare 67.5mm piston and ring. I went through and inspected every part on this bike. Some items were reused, but you can tell by the parts list above that the major items were replaced. The fork tubes had some light rust near top of the tubes that cleaned up nicely. I did not replace them. The Bing carburetor was thoroughly cleaned. I have the jetting set for 4500 ft elevation. You will need to jet the bike to your elevation. Right now, the bike has a 40:1 mix in the tank. Less than an hour is on the new cylinder, crank, piston, and bore. After you have it jetted and have run a tank through the bike, it should be run on 50:1. You will receive a spare piston because I was assured my second cylinder would clean up at 67.5mm bore. It did not, and I ended up with an extra 67.5mm piston that I will never use. I have ridden the bike. I have not ridden the bike excessively because it is basically a completely restored motorcycle. You would have a hard time coming closer to buying a new 1976 Maico. The long and the short of it is that in April, this will be a 42 year old motorcycle. It is an extremely nice example of a bike this age. I can provide receipts for parts. There may be more parts that I am forgetting. I have not gone back through all the receipts. Feel free to ask me questions. I can provide more pictures (including build photos) and a video of the Maico running. SHIPPING:NOTE, SHIPPING CHANGES. A different Motorcycle I built was accepted to The Handbuilt Show in Austin Texas. If you live within a reasonable distance from a line of travel between Southern Oregon and Austin Texas, I can arrange to trailer this motorcycle with me to Austin and deliver along this route of travel. We will be on the road to Austin April 16th-22nd where we will attend The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show that weekend. If this fits, and makes you consider bidding, I'm willing to work shipping details out. Other than this, the following shipping notification remains the same. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I have had motorcycles picked up by buyers personally, I have had them picked up by transporters, and I have participated in transporting motorcycles when there were options that matched my travel schedule. I will work to make shipping as painless as possible, but shipping, pick up, or delivery is the buyers responsibility.
