Vehicle Detail

Here is a 2017 Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop. This is a genuine John Cooper Works. NOT a Cooper S with a body kit! As a Mini enthusiast, there is nothing that bothers me more then when someone lists a Cooper S as a JCW. The differences are substantial. The John Cooper is in a different league then its Cooper S cousin. You may be thinking “what is it that makes this car so special? Can’t you just put a tune on a Cooper S? Wouldn’t it produce the same power? Back in 2002 I fell in love with the first generation Mini Cooper. I loved the way the car handled. I loved the sound and power. I loved how they were practical and fun. l loved how each Mini was so unique. I became obsessed and thankfully I was able to turn this obsession into a business. Servicing/ repairing/ dismantling/ and selling Mini Coopers only. As time went on I got bored. I got bored of the standard Mini Hardtop. I still loved the car and it made me a living. I just wanted more out of the drive experience. I wanted more speed, better handling, better braking. I recently experimented with a couple Subaru STI’s and Mitsubishi Evolutions. These two cars are so fast in the canyons. I never race, never go crazy but I can recognize a cars potential. The Subaru and the Mitsubishi blow away the Mini Cooper S in every performance category. Now comes the John Cooper Works. I have been looking for a new body JCW since they came out in 2015. What a hard find. It seems like one in every 5,000 Mini Coopers is a JCW. Even when I did see one it was never perfect. I wanted a two-door with a manual trans. I did not want a fancy sun-roof and or a convertible. I wanted a serious machine. Then I saw this red one My daily driver is a 2016 Mini Cooper S Hardtop with a manual trans. Even though I knew this JCW would be better, I never expected it to be SO much better. Put aside the beautiful body kit, and the small tasteful features like the extended fender flares. Put aside the JCW insignia and the huge brakes that look like they belong on a Porsche. The JCW has a completely different gear ratio then the Cooper S. The shocks are a bit stiffer, the tires are a bit wider and the power band is different. The torque, the mid-range speed is different. The exhaust note is different. The JCW even has TWO radiators and a huge Intercooler. The Cooper S has a medium sized Intercooler and one radiator. So even the upgrades you do not see or feel are different. All of this makes the John Cooper Works a truly incredible machine. A Mini Cooper that holds its ground against the Subaru STI and the Mitsubishi Evolution. A car that reminds me why I fell in love with Mini Coopers in the first place. Now for the part that everyone is most concerned about. The ‘salvaged’ rebuilt title. This Mini was involved in a minor collision shortly after purchase. No frame damage, airbags did NOT deploy. NO mechanical damage. Purely ‘unbolt’ replacement parts only. NO pulling, again, un-bolt replacement parts only! I have posted a picture of the car prior to repair at the slideshow up at the top. All-in all this car looks and drives like a 2017 Mini JCW. Everything works, no funny lights, drives straight- I know my Minis. I know when something is not right. Paint match is spot on. Everything lines up. This a very nice car. There are a couple minor paint imperfections and a couple tiny scratches. If you want something ‘perfect’ I guess buy it new. We are a small independent car dealership located just outside the greater Los Angeles area. Prospective buyers are more then welcome to come check out the car by appointment. California residents will need to pay California Sales tax. All cars are sold ‘-as-is’. If you have any questions please feel free to call (818) 585-5251. Thank you
