thinning my herd and here is my latest offering.here is what looks to be an original 1979 bmw r100s.it was recently serviced by a bmw service center and has 68983 miles.it comes with a large box of spare parts that appear to be mostly new, including but not limited to gaskets, spark plugs, tool trays, seals, grommets, cables, service tool, bulbs, bearings, documents and drawings, hydraulic hoses, springs, fuel tap and other parts plus a 775 page Clymer manual, Haynes manual and original riders handbook.it has a brand new battery and the tires are approx. 40% life left.it has a newer supertrapp stainless exhaust that sounds great but not overly loud.it also comes with 40+ bmw owners club magazines and a separate set of header exhaust pipes if you want them.the previous owner disconnected the clock and ammeter as he said it was draining the battery but I think he also disconnected the rev counter as its not currently working but the wires are coiled up at the side of the headlamp and should be easy to reconnect (when I replaced the battery I noticed I removed the original factory bmw battery so I don't think the clock was draining it)the paintwork has some scratches/marks and one shallow dent on the tank right hand side near the seat (see pics)and the frame could use a little clean/touch up but overall I think the bike looks good for its age.the items requiring attention.new choke cables were installed but still need adjustment.the center stand has the foot lug missing and the spring appears weak.reconnect the clock etc. it has a clear title that is still under the previous owners name.I have not ridden the bike much over the last two years and it should have some fresh gas put in as soon as you get it.she starts straight up and idles great when warmed up.any questions or extra pics required, please email me. I have just noticed this morning that there appears to have been a repair carriedout on the thread of the exhaust collar or in that area, it looks ok and does not leak.this is on the left hand cylinder exhaust area but hard to see as I have had the bike 2 years and just noticed it. (please see added pic) this is a no reserve auction.
