Vehicle Detail
1962 Imperial LeBaron, 4 door hardtop. This is a reasonably rare body style as there were only 1449 of the top of the line LeBarons built in 1962. For restoration, running but not road worthy, 413 engine block water jacket is cracked, I drove this car often 8 years ago or so, just ran it without pressurizing the cooling system, it did fine then. Brakes working but need work. You will need a trailer to remove this vehicle, though with a hot battery (not included) it will drive onto a trailer. This car has been off the road for 8 years or so and stored in my garage. There is some rust in the rear quarters and possibly elsewhere. Interior is in poor condition, paint is poor as well and looks better in the pictures than it actually is. When last driven the center support was bad and would vibrate at low speeds, it has not been replaced. Odometer shows 32,000, that is likely 132,000 as the car had 69,000 miles on it in April of 1970. With work this would be an interesting and enjoyable car. To many projects and out of space, something has to go. Vehicle is sold AS IS with no express or implied warranties or representations having been made by Seller to Buyer. On Mar-01-18 at 05:52:08 PST, seller added the following information: *NOTICE* I am adding a detailed explanation about the block crack. There is not any water in the oil and there never has been any water in the oil period. The crack is about 2 inches long on the drivers side of the block emanating from a freeze plug in the center of the block. I have done nothing in an attempt to stop the leak. I evidently drove the car in this condition for several years thinking it was just a leaking freeze plug then discovered it was a crack. I was unaware of this when I bought the car. It is not a big leak as I topped the coolant off in October of 2017 and when checked it today the coolant was down about 2 quarts. The engine runs well and always has. The brakes and the center support are the main reason I deemed the car not road worthy. I hope this answers the many questions I have had.On Mar-01-18 at 06:56:22 PST, seller added the following information: The center support I mentioned is for the 2 piece drive shaft. The rubber insulator for the center support is all that has failed and this will cause a drive shaft vibration at low speeds.
