You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback that needs a total restoration. please take note that the vin tag on the door says the vin is 6T09t199731 and that the body code is 63a. Body code 63a is a fastback body code and 09 in the vin is a fastback also However if you look at the vin stamped in the front apron it is stamped 6T07T199731 . The 07 in the vin is the vin for a coupe but the consecutive number is the same 199731 so I believe the apron was stamped incorrectly. this car has been sitting since 1981 so I doubt it is a coupe to fastback conversion. the car appears it is an original fastback . You be the judge I just want everyone to be aware of this. This car was a 6 cylinder car that has been converted to a v8. The car has a 1969 302 engine with an edelbrock f4b intake manifold and a list 1850 holley 600 carb. I hooked up an electric fuel pump to the carb and the engine started and ran. the carb needs to be rebuilt but the engine did sound good. it has a 4 speed toploader transmission. The trans tag is RUG-AV1 it is a wide ratio 4 speed. it has the 157 tooth small bell housing and flywheel which are correct for this year mustang. All of the clutch linkage is there and all works. The transmission is equipped with a hurst competition plus shifter but it is missing the shift knob.The car has manual steering and has 5 lug front drum drakes. The rear axle is a 5 lug 8 inch 2.79 open differential.it is the correct 1965-1966 width. I do not have any keys for the car. The front bucket seats are out of the car The dash has been cut for an aftermarket radio. The fold down rear seat is complete and in the car. The panel to the trunk has speakers in it. The body and under carriage are both extremely rusty. This car has been sitting since 1980 and it needs floors, front and rear frame rails , wheel houses and all exterior sheet metal replaced. The glass is all in good shape . I want anyone interested in this car to understand this car is very rusty and needs a complete restoration.
