Vehicle Detail
1964 TRIUMPH "THUNDERVILLE" 650 STREET TRACKERINCLUDES NEW REGISTRATION IN BUYER'S NAME!CLASSIC BRITISH IRON FOR STREET USE, OR VINTAGE RACINGNO RESERVE - YOU BID, YOU WIN! On offer is a very nice classic Triumph Thunderbird street tracker, with nice "period" Storz bodywork & wheels, choice of exhaust, and new tires. Engine has been freshened up and the bike should provide lots of fun and attention wherever you go with it. Auction starting price is the value of engine and wheels alone, so this is going to be a fantastic buy for somebody.CHASSIS & SUSPENSION - "Dry" frame with oil tank, rear section modified to fit street tracker seat/tail. Forks are from an early 70s Triumph. Reinforced & powdercoated swingarm. Decent used shocks. Steering bearings and swingarm bushings cleaned & lubed. Will include good original rear frame section at no additional charge, in case you want to go back to stock bodywork.WHEELS, BRAKES & TIRES - Akront shouldered alloy rear wheel laced to '64 rear hub & SLS brakes, Akront shouldered alloy front wheel laced to early '70s front hub & conical TLS brakes. Brake shoes are in very good condition. NEW Dunlop K70 universal pattern tires with new tubes and rim strips.ENGINE - Mostly original 6T Thunderbird, but the head is a '69 dual carb T120R Bonneville unit. Top end freshened up with .040 pistons & rings, lapped valves. Clutch, transmission, and timing gears thoroughly cleaned. Needs new points sets & condensers, re-timing. Has been running, but really needs the whole new points set or an electronic ignition & battery. INTAKE & EXHAUST - Amal 930 concentric carbs. Buyer's choice of headers (upswept scrambler pipes on the left side, or downswept one each side) and choice of mufflers (Sportster "bullet" mufflers, mini mufflers, or shorty open megaphones).IGNITION - OEM points & condensers. HAND & FOOT CONTROLS - All good functioning used parts. Nice alloy street tracker handlebars. ELECTRICAL & LIGHTING - Basic headlight & tail light, very basic wiring with 2MC capacitor & on/off switch only, NO battery.METERS - NONE.CABLES - All cables in fair (working) condition. BODYWORK - Storz fiberglass bodywork. Seat/tail is in good shape, no tears in fabric. Front fender in good condition. Oil tank & sidecover are original sheet metal parts in good condition. Fuel tank has been used around my shop as a test-run tank for several different bikes, and has ZERO deterioration, ZERO delamination, no bubbling, etc. Apparently, Storz uses very high quality tank liner, because this tank runs modern fuel with NO ISSUES. DOCUMENTATION - This bike includes a new VT registration in the BUYER'S name (must allow 21 days to process). Also includes notarized Bill of Sale if buyer requests it.SHIPPING - BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY. I recommend J.C. Motors and Keyboard Motorcycle Shippers.OTHER - In the listing heading, my reference to "AHRMA" and "Vintage Racing" is no bull. Buyer only needs to attend a one-day track racing school, and you can be racing the same weekend with AHRMA. This bike could run in several different road and off-road classes with minimal preparation. It is more fun than you can ever imagine, and not very expensive if you live fairly near one of the many AHRMA venues from coast to coast. BOTTOM LINE As with every bike (55), project (22) and part (hundreds) I’ve sold online in over 15 years (with 100% satisfaction), the above listing contains no hype, no fluff and NO BULL. SOLD AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL, NO RETURNS, NO REFUNDS. Thanx for looking and bidding. On Feb-08-18 at 13:55:19 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, but ran across my photos: ALL 4 valves were replaced with NEW pieces when I cleaned up the head. Drive chain is NEW, RK brand. Also, rocker oil feed is a Webco finned unit, as shown in photos.
