Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This listing is a PROJECT Car, NOT as A RUNNING Vehicle that was to be a Lad and Dad project that never came about. Sitting in a barn shed for 33 years, this little number is awaiting enthusiasm, skill, desire and a lust for the diamond to be re-polished.. As far as the particulars go, I believe it is a 1965 Austin Healey Sprite. It is left hand drive (i.e. originally made for export to the United States where we "correctly," drive on the right side of the road.) This is important because many of the older British cars came into this country with the steering wheels on the wrong side. The electrical system is positive earth, as opposed to most U.S. manufactured cars which are negative earth. The engine was rebuilt in 1985 (new gaskets, rings, main and rod bearings together with a complete machine shop grinding the crankshaft cam and valves, "micing,"etc., that was a long time ago, and after reassembly of the engine, oil was shot into each of the spark-plug holes before being mothballed. However, anyone working on it would probably at least want to pull the head and hone the cylinders. During my work on the car I determined that it needed a new wiring harness. Otherwise, I always assumed that it was fairly complete. At that time, I also rebuilt the entire brake system, including all of the wheel cylinders and the master cylinder. It has a rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinders from that time, and, I believe I replaced the clutch (pressure plate, friction plate and throw-out bearing). I also remember replacing and repacking all of the wheel bearings (Federal Mogul) as I recall. I also started on some of the body work, replacing rusted out floor pans and painting the interior of the engine compartment. For sure, it needs a new wiring harness. The original knock off wire wheels are in situ and, may be worth the price of admission alone!! Whomever makes the purchase may wish to resurrect or, part the car…. All the other parts and pieces not seen in images are in boxes in the garage. WE will help with the loading; it arrived to this location via a U-Haul drag trailer so all of the wheels spin for sure…. Take in the images, ask a question but, it is time for the little Sprite to find New Love…!!! *** For whatever reason, a hosts of questions answered but, Ebay will error in posting replies. The gest: Well, more pics..... I am away at present and, will make it back Saturday as to new pictures. As to rust, the car has been in a barn for 33 years. The current location, outside of a garage with a tarp in suburbia only happened last June. A son was supposed to work on the it but, he has two others in the garage with the bonnets up at present. Dad, wants it out of there... I would say the ole girl is 98% in solid metal. All of the parts and pieces are there except for the wiring harness. There is a LARGE tissue box with all of the seats, head lamps, door linings, handles and a lots of other "GAC" allied with the Sprite. To be candid, the car has to go.... Money to fetch is not this end of the sticks issue.... It is PRICED out of the gate to make exodus... The wheels are worth a K, so anything else is bonus.... There is a GOOD chance, the auction will end early as to promise who will arrive with the appointed cash and, trailer FIRST..!!! You will receive a Notarized Bill of Sale to title, a handshake and a BIG beaming smile...!!
