For auction is a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser. I am the second owner and this truck has been amazingly reliable over the years. Currently the head gasket is blown and, while I am an above average home mechanic, I do not have the time or space to get this guy back on the road. I would recommend a re-build as the timing chain cover also leaks along with a host of small issues these trucks have at 350K miles. I have rebuilt the front hubs in the last 2 years, replaced 3 of the 4 brake calipers and a number of other peripherals along the way. The transmission is still pretty strong and only lags between 1st and 2nd when its cold. The truck ran great until the head gasket went out and has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. There is a fair amount of minor body damage that has happened along the way at the farm but none of which occurred in an accident and certainly nothing that would affect the frame and structural integrity. There is no significant rust in any of the places that matter (scratches on the outside body have minor rust but no frame or panel problems). The front seats will need some repair as the seams have separated. Power windows are ok but the drivers side is sluggish when its cold. Passenger side wiper arm is missing and must be replaced. Radio antenna is broken. CD player does not work although the radio does. Sunroof works and does not leak. The 4WD works fine. This would be a great project truck or useful for parts.
