***Attention Pontiac Collectors!*** For sale is this 1962 Pontiac Tempest with the Lemans option with what is believed to be only 66909 original miles. Comes with a clean Tennessee title. This car is an absolute freak of nature. Its an incredible old car with one possible partial repaint in its Fifty-six year history. This thing looks so cool going down the road too and has PATINA out the yang. I have brand new carpet to go in the car, there are no rips or tears in the original seat, the headliner looks great, the paint is VERY nice for a car of this age which includes normal fading, chipping, and paint cracking in places. I personally LOVE the way it looks! I drove it about 10 miles to get it home, it goes through all of the gears great and has no squeaks rattles or shimmies. The chrome trim and the interior are absolutely beautiful with normal aging. Its been undercoated and oiled underneath and shows some signs of aging but its not rotted out and is still very useable. There is minor surface rust on the rocker panels and underneath the car as well. One small place on the frame where a lift would be placed also. There is a small patch panel on the lower left rear quarter that is unnoticeable from the outside of the car. The car has a fuel cell as the previously owner installed it when he removed the old fuel tank as it was too far gone to preserve. The emergency brake setup is missing from underneath the car as well. The tall skinny Gangster whitewalls were NOT designed for handling so don't expect a Porsche here! It doesn't overheat or smoke and the little engine has plenty of spunk at 110 hp (82 kW) (gross) at 3800 rpm and 190 lb⋅ft (260 N⋅m) at 2000 rpm with a single-barrel carburetor. The Pontiac inline-4 engine is an inline 4 created from the right bank of the 389 for the debut of the Tempest in 1961. With an identical bore and stroke , its 194.4 displacement is precisely half of the 389. This freak also has a transaxle with the torque converter mounted behind the transaxle and on the outside! This car should be in a warehouse and only driven on occasion as it is a true piece of automotive Pontiac history.
