Up for auction is a 2000 Nissan Maxima. This was my father-in-law's car, and he gave it to me for my son in late 2012. Following are the known problems/issues: Check Engine Light (CEL) is on now, and intermittently comes on and stays on for weeks or months - not quite sure what the cause is.Exhaust needs replacement, or at least sections of it to be welded. It is corroded through. This may have something to do with the CEL being on.Although the tires are fairly new, one of them loses air within a couple of days of inflating it. The problem may be that the rim is corroded badly enough to not allow a good seal, but I'm not sure.My son has told me that at times it feels as if the brake pedal gets spongy whereas he needs to press it almost all the way to the floor.ADDITIONAL NOTES AS OF 1/26/18 - MY SON ALSO MENTIONS THAT THE CAR AT TIMES SEEMS TO SHAKE A LITTLE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS A SMALL DENT ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR. SORRY FOR THE ACCIDENTAL OMISSIONS EARLIER. I have none of the maintenance/repair receipts from before my father-in-law gave me the car, as he never kept them. However, I do have all of them since acquiring the car. I have changed the oil every 5K miles, replaced the tires and brakes, and had some other repairs and maintenance done. Car is located in East Stroudsburg, PA. Buyer is responsible for picking it up.
