Meticulously over maintained, Northern California car. This car was well loved and it shows. Always garaged and never driven in the rain. Never smoked or eaten in. Always adult owned, never tracked or abused. Car is in incredible condition, hard to believe it is twenty-eight years old. Never been in an accident or had any paintwork done. The only reason for sale is as I continue through “the golden years”, it is becoming more difficult for me do get in and out of the car. To say that I am particular about the car is a vast understatement. The car failed the California biennial smog inspection. It had a performance exhaust installed by the previous owner including the catalytic converters, and they failed the visual section of the check. I worked with North Star Automotive Technology, (renowned ZR-1 experts), and they were able to source NOS GM header / catalytic converter assemblies. He informed me that a problem on all ZR-1’s is as they age, all the vacuum lines, port couplings, elbows, et cetera, the system uses to control many aspects of the engine crack and get minor leaks causing a multitude of issues that are near impossible to track down. I had every component that could be affected by this replaced with new GM parts. I have receipts (all records come with the car), for just under $35,000, (not a typo). This is something to keep in mind when looking at other ZR-1’s. This will need to be done. This car will easily pass the impossibly stringent California smog inspection, runs smooth and strong. Some items were replaced as a matter of preventive upkeep, and to ensure a long trouble-free life, such as all 16 fuel injectors (with NOS units), starter, alternator… There are too many new parts and services done to list.
