Up for sale is a 2001 BMW 740i with the famed Sport Package. Arguably one of the true Ultimate Driving Machines, this car is an early 2001 in Anthracite exterior/gray interior and is equipped with: -Sport Package (M-technic sport suspension, 18" M Parallel wheels, 5-speed steptronic transmission, Shadowline exterior trim, contour sport seats, M-sport steering wheel, and Vavona redwood interior trim)-Convenience Package (manual rear door sunshades, rear power sunshade and folding exterior mirrors)-Park Distance Control-Heated front seats The good: -Clean title, low mileage car that has lived it's life in dry states (California and Idaho)-Maintenance records for previous and current (third) owner. Previous owner was the used car manager of the local BMW dealership who bought the car in 2012, had the dealership do some extensive work, including an engine re-seal, and then sold it after about 10 months. Since 2013 the car has been serviced by the dealership and a local independant.-No history of accident damage or paintwork (paint does have some slight chips, but nothing out of place for a 16 year old car)-Solid mechnicals. Engine/transmission runs and operates great. No drips, leaks, etc. Suspension is nice and tight, and the car handles beautifully.-Dash has all working pixels (common and costly problem not present here)-HVAC system works extremely well. A/C blows cold and heater keeps the car warm and toasty-Brand new Sumitomo HTR tires The bad:Has the common E38 issues: -Broken front cup holder-Headliner starting to sag in the rear-Couple of the trim pieces are cracked-Cassette tape stuck in player (MC Hammer's "Please Hammer, Don't hurt 'Em" for your listening pleasure) The ugly: -Both front seats have some leather cracking on the lower bolsters-Passenger headrest does not move up and down. You can hear the motors whirring but it doesn't move. Mild aesthetic mods include:-ECS Tuning black kidney grilles. -Euro market cell phone tray delete and ash tray. These parts simply turn the cell phone and ash tray into more usable trays. Both parts are OEM BMW and the original cell phone and ash tray are included in the sale. All in all, the car is a superb driver and ready for the next owner. It is one of the true BMW gems and comes from an era when they really were producing the Ultimate Driving Machine. I am selling due to a growing family.
