These Syncro equipped models were never sold in the US, and this one is 214,049 documented kilometers from new. Condition looks to be in accordance with that low figure, and the factory chrome package seen here is claimed to have been fitted to just 500 cars. The manual operated sunroof is very cool. Paint and bodywork as well as trim all show very well. The cass...ette deck is a VW item. Permanent four-wheel drive receives its motivation from 98 horse 1.8 liter eight-valve, shown here looking very tidy and all stock. There is a stamped service booklet, and the s a clear PA US title as well as all relevant import documentation. The Syncro 4-wheel-drive system was already well-proven at the 1989 release and the 4-door body makes sense for more utility than sport. This one factory VW wheels and BFG MT tires, The interior looks no different than most Euro-spec Golfs with a standard A2 dash and nice cloth seats. The condition is very good for the miles. Out back these cars came with relocated license plates and smoked Hella taillights from the factory. The spare tire is mounted to an external swing-out carrier to allow room underneath for the rear differential and visco-coupling.
