Central Valley Classics Classic Restorations & Cars For Sale Fresno, California Helping people buy their dreams for over 25 years We are proud to offer this special vehicle for auction! GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING! 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Original 289 V8 Engine Cruise-O-Matic Automatic Transmission 9" Rear End Bucket Seats GT Instruments GT Wheels + More This is one of the cleanest original Mustangs I've see in a while, second owner for over 40 years and always garaged. The car is basically a repaint away from a survivor. This body ABSOLUTELY rust free, there is barely any surface rust on the under side of this car. The body is very straight and there are no signs of any major accidents. The car was repainted about 30 years ago, still has a good shine but has several chips from parking in a tight garage. All of the chrome and stainless is in good to very good condition with the exception of some pitting on the right tail light and wear on the drivers door handle. All of the glass is good. The door/window seals are showing their age though. The drivers door needs a new pivot pin/spring kit so it can stay open, a common fail on these. The interior is original except for the bucket seats, they were recovered 20+ years ago. The carpet looks good but it does show it's originality upon close inspection. The door panels and headliner are in good shape, the dash has a cover and there are some small cracks in the pad. The gauges appear to have been ordered from the factory because I don't recall the "C" code cars having that instrumentation as standard. It has been upgraded to an AM/FM direct fit stereo but no holes were hacked in the package tray or doors. The interior is overall very presentable. The original jack and hardware as well as a good spare are in the trunk. The engine and transmission are the originals, it has had the heads done years ago and the transmission was rebuilt at one time. It looks like it might need valve cover gaskets again but nothing serious. The water pump and T-stat were replace not too long ago. The odometer shows 49K but we know it's +100K. The car has been serviced very well, the owner is in his 70's and this has been a hard decision to part with the car. If the car needed anything, he always was on top of it. It needs a pinion seal and a rear transmission seal so those things helped him make the decision to sell. I drove it, starts right up with no smoke, the transmission drops into gear perfectly (no clunks), it shifts well and it drives straight down the road. Take a look at the pictures, this car retains the original smog pump/air injection tubes and exhaust resonator as a testament to how original it is. This is almost unseen except in Concours show cars. I might have missed a few things but I try to be thorough. This is a one of the few unmolested original CA cars still out there. A perfect car to enjoy as is or a candidate for that original restoration, your choice. There is a Buy-It-Now with Best Offer so shoot an offer.
