THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!This auction is for what I arguably feel is the best motorcycle for young and old, novice or expert rider alike, the Honda XR75. These bikes are close to the ground, have all the controls of a full size motorcycle, and …. THEY ARE HONDAS! As much as it pains me to sell this, we are moving to a smaller house and I will no longer have a shop to store this (this has always been indoors since I own it). I had it in storage for several years with drained carb and stabilizer in the tank, and it started ON THE SECOND KICK.For those of you unfamiliar with this classic mini, it is powered by a 75cc four stroke, 5 speed super reliable engine. How many of us learned to ride motorcycles on a mini like this? This is a PERFECT learner’s bike, short, light, with all the controls set up just like a full size motorcycle. This is not a perfect museum piece, but HAS been maintained with lots of TLC. To start with, the engine had been totally rebuilt (fresh bore job, new piston and rings, clutch and transmission totally gone through and adjusted, all new seals and gaskets, carb rebuilt, etc) by a factory trained Honda mechanic with over 50 years of experience. Great compression; ignition timing and carburetion are “spot on”. It is STRONG and FAST but still very easy to ride! Starts easily on first or second kick, idles fine, no leaks. Enhancements include high-performance lifetime K & N air filter, Maier fenders, and new tires. Mechanically, brakes work very well, clutch is excellent, gearbox shifts great through all gears, and kill button works fine. Cosmetically, there is some minor wear and tear, as to be expected with a bike that is over 40 years old – call it PATINA. Paint is in decent condition, seat cover has a small repair at the bottom left - see photo. The white spots in the photos are reflections. Since there is no speedometer the mileage is unknown. The gas tank is all original, very solid. There are no side panels but they are available from Maier Manufacturing. The exhaust has a rattle inside but works fine and is solid outside. This should serve you VERY well. This bike is all complete, here is a chance for you to OWN HISTORY! This bike deserves a great home to a young child hankering for his first bike, an old kid wanting to relive his youth, or someone wanting a REALLY cool pit bike. This bike is a 1978 model, VIN 1535345. I never got a title with it when I bought it, I CAN provide a Bill of Sale if requested. SHIPPING: Buyers to pay and arrange for shipping and crate, if necessary. Please be prepared to provide whatever your shipper needs in order to secure your bike. Buyer can also pick up bike in Penn Valley, CA. Shipper damage coverage may be additional – check with the carrier you use! Please email me with any questions. I accept payment via PayPal.
