Clean 2003 LandRover Discovery Series II, S model. First-year of the updated front end with the revised lights and the 4.6L engine. This example also comes with the Winter package ( heated windshield, seats and side mirrors). Solid, completely rust-free TWO-OWNER California Land Rover, residing here all of its life since being purchased from Land Rover in Pasadena in southern California. It has resided up here in the Northern CA Bay area for the last four. This Discovery is completely original, exactly as it was originally built, being the first year mode with the much nicer, updated front end, and the more powerful 4.6L engine. 107K original miles. It starts immediately, idles and drives well on both town and on the highway, with no leaks or smells. There is NO rust nor corrosion on this vehicle anywhere as it would be expected from a California-lived Discovery ( hard-pressed condition to find in any Land Rover beyond the Sierra mountains). BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS COMING FROM THE EAST COAST~! ( it's beyond me why anyone would want to buy an East coast car with potential hidden rust ). Most standard features and amenities available at time of production. Clean factory 16" G4 alloy wheels. Stock 4.6L engine ( only available for the last 2 years of the Discovery II) runs good. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 4.6 motor was a vast improvement over the earlier 4.0 engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor. NO overheating issues to contend with. NONE. Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Four-wheel Power disc brakes brake smoothly without pulsation ( it also has new brakes). Power steering, Power windows ( all four work), Power mirrors, Power heated seats ( both work), CD player and cold A/C.Transfer case and differentials engage smoothly and precisely, without noises, crunching or sloppiness. Finish is still in its Champagne factory paint color, with NO hood or roofline fading nor oxidation of the clearcoat ( common ailment on all Land Rovers). Still shines quite nicely. The body, chassis, undercarriage and every single angle and seam are super solid considering this Discovery is fourteen years young ! This Land Rover is being sold unrestored and untouched, except for necessary maintenance and service which has already been performed, and the minimal cosmetics touches which have also been addressed. Its original Alpaca leatherette upholstery is in very good condition and has held up very well. There are no cracks or tears on any of the leather bolsters in the seats ( except in one small area on the bottom driver's from age, as pictured). Clean door panels and factory original carpeting. MINT dash. The photos show the Land Rover accurately. NON SMOKER vehicle always. A very solid, rust-free unrestored classic, with better-than-average miles and a good 4.6L engine. It runs well with a strong, solid powertrain. Drives very nicely on the freeway.Clean chassis, with no tweaks, no rust and a nice interior. It will make an excellent traveler, camping vehicle or just a fun Land Rover to drive around as it is.
