This 71K mile Mercedes-Benz R129 Roadster is more rare than it may appear at first glance. Recognizable body style aside, it's what the badges define and subtle finishes that make this roadster the most desirable. This is the SL600 Sport Edition finished in black with two-tone gray and black, perforated leather seats and touches of woodgrain throughout. It sits on top of 245/40ZR 18" Sumitomo rubber and chrome finished, five-spoke wheels. This SL's power-plant consists of the M120 6.0L, 48 Valve DOHC, 389hp V12 engine tagged onto the Automatic 5 Speed Electronic Transmission, making this a comfortably quick ride. The exterior of this SL600 has been cared for, as seen in the photos. The only imperfections are on the lower, front bumper from road wear, rock chips. The rest of the exterior is free from dings, scratches and rust. The black paint has held up well and there are no signs of pealing clear coat. All glass is intact and in excellent shape with, again, not signs of cracking or pits. The chrome wheels are in excellent condition and the tires have moderate wear, but were able to pass the State of Maine safety inspection without a problem this past month.Interior finishes are also in very nice condition with minimal wear on the driver's side and little to no wear on the passenger side. The most notable imperfection is pictured on the driver's side seat controls. Aside from the subtle signs of use, the rest of the interior is free from rips, holes, cracks as well as dash lights and malfunction electronics. All gauges and electrical systems work flawlessly and this also includes the operation of the automatic convertible top and "roll bar." The top easily engages into the open and closed positions without an issue. Being a commonality throughout this SL600, the engine bay, trunk space and chassis are also clean and in very good condition with only a couple, notable imperfections. The engine bay is near excellent condition, minus the flaking, gold paint as seen in the photos. The rest of the compartment is clean and in stock condition. The chassis is also very clean and free of rust and oxidation throughout, including the seams. The only notable blemish being the tarnished/dull metal on the exhaust, spanning from the mufflers to the catalytic converters. It's not even rust, but considering how clean the underside of this SL600 is, it stands out. This is a great example of a Mercedes SL600 that's in as good of shape as it looks. Included is a copy of its latest CARFAX report that further illustrates that this vehicle is legit, both in the flesh and on paper. Over $2,500.00 in recent work/receipts to go along with the binder of maintenance history. Original wheels and hard top are not included in the sale as they were lost somewhere down the line of ownership.
