Vehicle Detail
The boat you have inquired about is a 40 foot Morgan pilot-house ketch ... 1971 vintage ... there were only about 10 of this model made. She is made of laid up fiberglass ... the pilot house is wood with a glass skin. She draws 4 foot of water and is a shoal draft boat. This boat can be best considered as a fixer-upper ... so if you do not have the skills or time to work on her then do not read any further than this as it is a waste of yours and my time. The boat does not have a inboard engine in it although the shaft is still there and the plates for mounting one. There was a perkins 108/4. A 8 hp 4 stroke Honda with a 6 amp charge system is what was used on the boat for propulsion. The engine does not come with the boat. If you go with the direction of the current this engine will get you up to 3.5 to 6 knots. There are two saddle tanks for water on board. the one on the port side is reported to have a leak in it. There is a shru-flo water pump for the water system. The water lines are still mostly in place but have been cut and are not functional. Be advised that there is not water heater. There is 2 porta-potties and one is functional the other for parts. There is a marine head in the head area but there is no holding tanks. There is Paint onboard of various colors that is 2 part marine paint most is in quart cans, but there is no catalyst for the paint. The boat has been sold twice before, the first turned out to be a flake and the second person decided to purchase another boat so she came back to me. The last person that had the boat was remodleing the interior so a lot of the lights and water sys was taken out, some is still there but a lot of it is not.I did manage to save a lot of the teak that he was going to throw out and it stays on the boat. There is a zodiac inflatable that needs a transom board that comes with the boat.Electrical has been mostly removed from boat, there is one battery 12 volt that is connected to a 40 Watt solar panel with charge controller that operates the bilge pumps and the anchor light. There are leaks on the boat, they are mostly at the pilot-house windows. Some of the walls in the pilot house do need to be rebuilt. There is also a leak at the rudder post which is just that it need to be repacked.all of the halyards on the boat are 3 strand 1/2" rope. The main and mizzen sails are in fair condition. There is a hank on sail for the roller furling as it is ripped. Please be advised that this boat is what is refereed to as needing a complete refit, if you do not have the knowledge or time for it then do not go any further than this. This boat is being sold as is and I will give no warranties other than I do have a clean Florida title for the boat. Please do not contact me unless you are serious about the boat. I will negotiate some on the price.
