Vehicle Detail

1960’s Montgomery Wards Mojave 260 Motorcycle (Benelli Riverside Mojave 250)Engine Number: HS*21680*This is a complete bike that I got a couple of months ago. Everything looks stock and original to me. Very comfortable to sit on.I started working on it with my son, but he headed back to college early and I am losing interest (have lost). The good:Engine free, has compression.Only 2800 miles Rebuilt CarburetorCleaned and treated gas tank, new fuel linesElectrics work (head lamp, ignition, hi/low beams, 6v at the coil)Wheels are amazing – not sure what they are made of but they polish up well.New coilNew plug, new plug wireNew batteryFresh oil change.New throttle cableAll the logos look good. The not good:No spark – I have 6.2V at the coil with the CEV key inserted, but no spark. I cannot get the cover off the left side of the engine to check the points. All the cover screws come out easily and the cover seems ready to come off, but it seems to be hung up on the kick start spindle. I did not want to force it, so I let it be.Needs tires - cracked, and the front blew when I put air in it with hand pump.Needs brake light switch - switch is present, but does not have the trigger connection.Horn does not work - the horn switch works for the lights, I bet it just needs to be cleanedNeeds speedo cable - was there, but was broken, I tossed it. Otherwise, it is ready to go. Rolls well. Shifts into gears (at least as much as I can tell w/o it running). Cables work - Clutch moves, brakes move and engage.*** Bill of sale only – NO TITLE ****** NOTE – I am happy to deliver for FREE within 2 hrs of Washington DC. Also, happy to work with your shipper. Very flexible. The tank and the frame are worth the Buy It Now price.Sold as-is.Please ask questions, happy to answer if I can.On Aug-06-17 at 07:38:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Happy to provide a notarized bill of sale to assist your titling efforts. On Aug-07-17 at 04:56:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Typo in the text of the ad: Mileage is 2977.On Aug-08-17 at 07:04:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Added some photos of the tank.On Aug-10-17 at 16:58:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi Folks - some of the experts on the Wards/Benelli Riverside board on yahoo think this might be the extra early, extra rare 250cc that Wards got from Benelli before the 1968 re-design. The side covers seem to bear them out (I thought it said 260cc, but I think in looking at the images they might say 250cc) See the last 2 images I just posted.
