Vehicle Detail

Featured here is a 1964 Buick Riviera, which saw 40,000 units in sales during its initial year, rode on a short wheelbase and was a popular vehicle. Marketed as a 'personal-luxury car', the hardtop coupe Riviera for 1964 received the new 425 cubic-inch engine rated at 340 horsepower in single 4-barrel form which this vehicle is equipped with. This car has been in storage for nearly 20 years came from the Pacific Northwest, Seattle, Washington. It is not currently running but does turn over, and would make a great base for a project. The vehicle belonged to a family member who bought the car in the mid 90’s and when it started running rough he parked it. He had gone back to school and money was tight and he lacked the funds to have the car repaired. When he finally got around to getting the car back on the road 10 years had passed. The tires were flat, and the cost to bring it back on the road he feared was more then he could handle, so he let it sit some more assuming it was safe in the parking garage of his apartment until he could properly bring the car back to life. After getting some quotes he decided it was better to let the car go and find a more attentive new owner for his baby. I was going to fix it up and make a fun cruiser, but I have too many projects and need to thin my herd. These cars have great investment potential as well perhaps due to their place in luxury automobile history. You could probably easily get it running, enjoy and drive this car and easily recapture your investment and maybe even make a little money as well as indicated by the Hagerty Value guide for these cars. https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1964-Buick-Riviera Here are the details: Body/Paint: Overall as you look at the photos you can the car is relatively clean with the worst rust area on the lower passenger rear quarter. The floors and trunk are very solid. Unfortunately, after being stored so long in a parking garage it has picked up a number or parking lot dents so exam the photos closely. The older paint appears to be an amateur paint job. Examine photos carefully. Comes with several extra parts including the driver's front marking light damaged in the photos Frame: Solid with no rust or signs of collision repair as shown in the photos Engine: The factory 425 V8 turns over but will not start. It appears to be firing but I think it is bad gas. Other then a chrome air cleaner the engine appears to be unmolested, with all its correct brackets and OEM equipment. Exhaust: As seen in the photos the exhaust looks new and is factory style exhaust Transmission: Factory original automatic, fluid is clean and clear. Some seepage around the pan gasket Interior: The factory original blue interior looks complete, with great upholstery free of any rips or tears just needs some light cleaning and with a good shampoo the carpet would like great. It still has the factory AM radio in place and other options include tilt steering, power seats and power trunk release. Needs new headliner Brakes: Power brakes previously serviced with new rubber brake lines and wheel cylinders and function as designed. Suspension: Complete with factory equipped front and rear stabilizer/roll bars and factory power steering. Looks well maintained. Tires/Wheels: There are 2 new tires are mounted out back on factory 15 X 7 steel wheels with factory wire wheel covers. Front tires hold air but are weather checked. These cars have a solid following are climbing in popularity, and this car should not take much to get it up running. It is a great candidate for the hobbyist on a budget but has the basic skills to build some sweat equity in it as a rolling restoration. A great handyman’s special you can fix up and recoup your investment at resale. Please inspect the pictures and ask questions. I have tried to describe this car is carefully as possible but understand the vehicle is sold as pictured, as is, with no warranty, implied or otherwise.
