This is a Maserati 4200 GT true manual 6 speed which is very rare and were produced between 2003-2005. There were approximately 550 Spyder manual transmission cars produced worldwide. This car being a black on black is one of approximately 55 ever produced. As one can see, these cars are extremely rare and are increasing in value from the low that took place. You can't buy a manual Ferrari or Maserati anymore. The engines in these cars were built by Ferrari side by side with Prancing Horse models. If you have never heard the sound these engines make I encourage you to go to do a search on your computer and hear it. The engine blocks and many other parts were shared by Ferrari 360 models and are indicative of the quality that went into them. The racing style, dry sump system was used in these cars and later deleted because of trying to control cost. In short, these cars a lot of bang for the buck. These cars do 0-60 in the four second range and have a top speed of 180 mph. That is amazing for a car that is attainable for under 25k dollars used. Now about this particular car. It has a new clutch replaced 3000 miles ago. I have owned it for over 2.5 years and this is a record for a car dealer to keep a car. While the clutch was changed I went ahead and replaced every component in the shifting mechanism with brand new parts. This includes clutch slave cylinder and a complete brand new set of shifter cables. The cables were one of the last parts from the factory and I bought them brand new for 1500 dollars. These are the most expensive maintenance parts on these cars and they have been attended to. This car has a great paint job and it shows very well. It is not a show car and has road rash and normal ding here and there. The car drives great and has no know issues. I replaced the radio/navigation unit with a brand new this year and also had a new compressor for the ac installed. These are exotic cars and anyone who owns one or plans on owning one needs to understand that they are not Honda Accords. I have sold over 200 Maserati products over the years and know these cars very well. This is a good car. The top works great and does have the common strap issue where you need to pull the center bar straight sometimes if it gets stuck. All the tires are brand new and I have a custom X pipe with TUBI mufflers on it. I also installed Maserati Gransport seats and door sills from one of my other cars that was totaled on a test drive. This car has a buy back guarantee from Ebay and has a clean carfax. In addition it has a clean clear title. The vehicle comes with all the books, tool kit etc. I also have the original shift knob that came with the car. This car was garage kept and it is always parked in my climate controlled garage. It is the only Maserati I have ever owned that does not drain the battery when stored for a long period of time.
