This is the one, folks. I bought this superb specimen from the original owner, in December, 2016. It is impeccable and I have treated it accordingly. Everything works and it has been garaged since day 1. No expense has been spared and I have 100% of service records since the car was sold by the dealership new; these records are extensive and highly favorable, and depict a rare example of proper e38 maintenance for the life of the car. This is the last year of production for the 740iL and this is a very rare color; Biarritz Blue exterior. In the past 6 months, I have installed new plugs, coils, and valve cover gaskets; all OEM. New BMW timing chain tensioner immediately upon purchasing the car as well. I have also installed brand new, factory D2S HID capsules (ordered from Germany), new cabin air filters, fresh oil change with Mann filter and Rotella T6 5W-40 under 1000 miles ago. New liquid cooled alternator installed shortly before my purchase. I have a Blackstone Labs oil analysis from my ownership which indicates impeccable engine health. I have a bunch of spares and will include those (filters, etc.) This car is bone stock, with the exception of an upgraded audio system with the very elegant Dice MediaBridge which facilitates seamless integration of bluetooth and Sirius XM (takes place of cd changer in trunk and is completely controlled by stock system, including steering wheel controls. Love the heated steering wheel, auto-dip side view mirror, and of course the ultimate driving experience! When buying and selling cars (as an enthusiast who's fortunate enough not to be concerned about cost constraints), my questions is always; "What does this car need to be perfect?" For this car to be perfect, it would need corrected some small paint bubbling on the bottom inch of the front driver (for ~3") and front passenger (for ~8") doors. It has one <1" ding on the rear passenger door. The rear seat belts could use some scrubbing. Otherwise, it's about perfect, including factory replaced pixel cluster and cup holders. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. Sold as-is and listed locally; seller reserves right to end listing early and select buyer. There are a lot of cheap e38's out there - this one, rather, is an incredible value. It is a very rare one - last year of production, carefully and lovingly maintained and fully garaged by the original owner for 15 years, and then delicately driven by a knowledgeable enthusiast for 7 months, Biarritz exterior, needs essentially nothing to be a reliable daily driver or an enthusiast's unicorn. Those are all circled in red in the images. Only other item would be that the glove box handle is occasionally screwy recently, have to sometimes jiggle it to unlock. Also added pic of undercarriage - no corrosion; this car was well cared for and garaged its whole life so the all original paint/clearcoat is in excellent shape as you can see in the pics. Forgot to mention this one has the active comfort seat option as well.
