Vehicle Detail
We bought this car in June 2014 with roughly 45k miles on it. My wife and I drive a LOT of highway miles (me 25k, her 40k), so the mileage has quickly climbed to the 126k that it is now. We have outgrown the car (had two kids when we bought it, now have four), so we bought my wife an Acadia a few months ago. It has been completely reliable for us. I work on my own cars, so it has received Mobil 1 full synthetic every 10k miles and the DSG fluid changed when we bought it and at 80k (it's due again now). We've also replaced the battery, rear brake pads, all 4 coilpacks (1 failed and if you've owned enough VWs, once one goes, it's best to replace all 4), and the intake manifold replaced under extended warranty at 117k miles (had it "decarbed" too). I will also include a $60 Covercraft sunshade for the windshield. I installed 18" Audi replica wheels with practically brand new rear tires and the front tires probably have 25% life left. I purchased them from someone on Craigslist and he had just replaced the two tires b/c of bad camber wear. I will also include the OEM 17" wheels that have 1 practically new tire (warrantied), 1 with 10% tread, and the final two are shot. I purchased a CarFax to show prospective buyers that it is a clear car with no accident damage (can be sent upon request). We had a small deer or large dog run into the passenger side door at night (never found the animal) and the body shop just replaced the door rather than try to pull the dent. Nothing major at all and it isn't even listed on the CarFax, but I believe in full disclosure and complete honesty. The only current negatives is the cruise control doesn't work (didn't when we bought it, but it doesn't bother us), the headliner is sagging (common on these cars), the rear window tint is bubbling, and the tires have a bit of road noise; I don't know if it's their nature or because of the wear difference between front & rear. TERMS OF SALE:We currently owe money on this car, so my credit union (Bethpage Federal) has the clear FL title. We owe roughly $6,850, but I will obviously pay the difference if the car sells for less than that amount. I can afford to pay the car off, but we are under contract to buy a house and I'm VERY wary of letting go of that sort of cash right now unless I know for certain that the car is going to sell. What I have decided to do is with the first successful bid or Buy It Now, I will overnight a check to my credit union to pay the car off. They will then release the title to me. I'm sure this process will take about a week. If you'd like to pick the car up BEFORE I have the title, then we can sign a Bill of Sale and I will REQUIRE your payment. I will then mail you the title when I receive it. If you can afford to wait until AFTER I have the title, the sale will proceed with a simple signing the title over in exchange for your payment. Regardless of situation I will require a $500 deposit via PayPal. I have stellar Ebay feedback and have bought and sold many cars on here over the years. I actually just bought a Pacifica sight-unseen, arranged shipping, etc back in April, so "larger dollar" transactions are nothing new to me. I just want the certified check to be with a bank that I can call to verify its legitimacy (any major bank offers this - Wells Fargo, etc). On Jul-13-17 at 08:33:37 PDT, seller added the following information: **7/13** - Even though the car has a bid, I have NOT sent a check to my bank. The bidder registered the same day he/she bid on my car and are not responding to my emails. I cannot be certain the person is a legitimate buyer and therefore cannot risk my capital at the moment to pay off the car (we close on our house in 3 weeks). I will pay the car off once it receives a bid from someone other than a zero feedback bidder. Ideally today so that the bank could have a check before the weekend ;)
