**** Vehicle Has Blown Head Gasket and Overheats **** Please read carefully before proceeding and ask questions. 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE7 with 120,000 miles, seats 7 passengers. New Brakes and Tires (replaced not more than 3,000 miles ago, I only drive the car 5 days per month). A few days ago, it overheated while driving, by the time I was able to safely park it off the highway and then got it towed to a mechanic shop, learned it has a blown head gasket. Condition: Excellent in and out, impeccable condition.. 4x4 everything works perfectly. AC, Map Navigation touchscreen. Rear DVD Player with FM Modulation (you can hear audio on speakers and/or headsets). 1 headset is missing but you can order it from Alpine Electronics of LR Dealership. Typically, a truck this clean with this lower mileage go for about $5,000. Current Location: The vehicle is located in Little Ferry NJ at a friend's shop, I priced out a Head Gasket job at several machine shops, the estimates were anywhere between $1100 - $1500. Please note: The diagnosis & pricing that this truck was giving to me in good faith by a reputable Machine Shop, local. This was based on their experience and what they've previously seen from these trucks but I take no responsibility for this, you need to do your due diligence. If interested: I highly recommend you get some estimates from local shops you trust to get an idea of what Head Gasket jobs on these Landys cost. It's good practice so that you get an idea of you want to bid and how much everything will cost you @ the end. Head Gaskets are fairly straight-forward, it's mostly labor and it's not complicated at all. Once it's done, you will have this amazing SUV with plenty of presence and personality. If interested, I strongly recommend you get the vehicle towed to your desired location, directly to a mechanic shop of your choice. The truck is just beautiful, the pictures don't quite do it justice, you need to see it for yourself. Status: The Truck starts & drives with good compression but overheats so, should you decide to purchase it then you must tow it. If you -- for some strange reason -- decide to take a chance and drive it then you will destroy the engine >> becomes a more expensive.. HINT: Don't do it. If you have any questions, please ask.
